cd will do that
eg. cd /usr/share/games/tremulous/ will set your working dir to /usr/share/games/tremulous/

I think you don't use the q3map2 file.
Or it don't support tremulous and you need a newer q3map2 when it is avaible.
Download this.

if on windoze, this .bat file works: (of course, redo the paths appropriately, and download that q3map2 thing above) pulse_102.bat (http://dmc-designworks.com/minarik_andrew/tremulous/pulse_102.bat)

:S when i paste this into command prompt  it makes a loud beeping sound and doesn't give me any error message everything is in the correct paths but it still doesn't work!

I just wanted to see how pulse elevators worked. Even so i dont get what the problem with taking part of someones map is. When I finish my map i am including my .map in my pk3 so people can take what ever they want.  Tremulous is open source how it taking something from someones map any different then taking part of someones qvm?

Why would they be illegal? Sure, they could be used for illegal purposes, but they have legitimate purposes too.

Consider the DVD burners that almost all computers come with these days. They could be used to create many illegal copies of films, music, software, etc. But is that a sufficient reason to outlaw them?

BTW, there is no need to decompile pulse. I have released its source here (under GNU General Public License v2)

[...] under GNU General Public License v2 [...]

Doesn't that mean that every server that runs that map has to offer the source code too ?

Presumably they got the map before it was GPLed, so they would not be held under those obligations - licences don't apply retroactively unless they're particularly vindictive ;)

If they were to modify the map and re-release it, or creative a derivative work etc, then yes, they would have to offer their new source.
