fraps (Windows only)?
-
VirtualDub to convert videos.
-
Tremulous has builtin facility for recording avi movies, although I think it was buggy in some earlier clients.
/video videoname
/stopvideo
These commands only work while playing back a demo, and slow your FPS down to a crawl. Don't worry about this, though - the final film will look normal.
You might want to record at a low resolution, as that will make both recording and downloading/uploading/whatever faster.

So, someone actually has been working on it and improved it?

Protip. Record a demo, then start your Tremulous like so:
tremulous +demo DEMONAME +video VIDEONAME
and just lit it sit there and record. The output AVI is very easy to use if you have a video converted/editor.

If you want to use a program instead of trems built in recording feature, and you're on windows i recommend cam studio.
Cam studio (http://camstudio.org/)
Its Open source, amazing and "Free" and it can convert video formats.

Wow, this would be really useful for people who are doing machinimas :D
