Title: Mass Driver CrossHairs
Post by: Darth Futuza on October 02, 2008, 11:57:03 pm
So just wondering what the view is on, the fact that the Mass Driver doesn't have cross hairs when zoomed in.  Too accurate?  Just...not there?  I mean...when using a sniping gun, usually one would want to know where he is aiming.  Guessing where the center of the screen is...not a very accurate way to aim.

I think the situation with the cross hairs ought to be reversed, as in when zoomed in there are crosshairs.  When zoomed out, there are no cross hairs.  After all the Mass Driver is a sniping weapon not a shotgun.  Right?

At first, yea, your statement makes alot of sense. But, many people don't even find the "zooming function" to be the most versitile key in Tremulous, you don't see alot of maps with good sniping spots. Sometimes they useas if it was a "uber-shotgun", which shoots less ammo, reloads slow but causes more damage and people prefer it that way.

Your statement makes sense to change in 1.2, but in my opinion I prefer the crosshair to stay.

True, if someone was going to put up any tremulous videos, it atleast has to be in somewhat good quality, and there isn't many like hat in Youtube. -.-

Anyways, I think this topic about crappy trem vids ( *coughtremcoughvideoscough* ) will get branch out into more replies and will get us off-topic, lets concentrate on the {edit} Crosshair idea. :P

[Offtopic]

High quality trick jump video recorded by Overdose and transcoded by me using VLC with Theora and mp3 as codecs:

It would be nice to know if more people are interested in these type of videos. Youtube might be good for cheap offsite rickroll video distribution, but the lack of control on the creators side regarding the transcoding parameters simply sucks.

Really?  ON my machine they simply disappear when your zoomed in.  I haven't changed any of the default settings for tremulous except for a slight variance in brightness...So they should still show up if their suppose to.

Hendrich has helped him with this already in another thread (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=10795.msg163356#msg163356).  Sorry for the intrusion.
