Title: cant change screen brightness also text being cut off

i just installed tremulous on my new computer I'm running windows vista home basic with a  nvidia geforce 6150SE nforce 430 graphic card the problem is i cant change my screen brightness in game Ive tried using options screen brightness and /r_gamma in game and it say set device Gama ramp failed also my text in game is being cut off as if the game thinks my screen is larger then what it is I've tried switching video mode which work until i close out tremulous and restart it then its back to the same problem

Cut off text problem:

2. I am not sure if this is indeed your problem but, the first time you change resolution you need to press the sync button on your monitor so it syncs to the new resolution and puts the geometry into its internal memory.

thanks for pointing out that previous post what solved the screen set Gama ramp failure was Running tremulous in Windows XP service pack 2 mode (right click the tremulous icon click properties then compatibility tab and select windows xp service pack 2) but the text getting cut off isn't fixed not that its very important

You are not by any chance running a virtual desktop with a bigger resolution than your screen?

Also: Could you provide a screenshot please? Does it happen when you run Tremulous windowed too?

i got vista too i solved the problem with gamma but i still dont know the place of the base path

on an other forum they say its here %APPDATA%\Tremulous\base  but i dont know how to enter this place . I want to use a new hud and put my autoexec there.
