hey folks...question.
If the game has reached Stage 3, and you just have basic stuff (dretch, or 0 credits as a human), how do you survive? Is there anything you can really do other than feed the other team? By that point in the game, it seems that anything they have kills you.

Every two minutes you stay alive you get one evo point / money. Teaming up with other people might help as well as you get points / money for causing damage and not for kills. ;)

You have to cause more damage than anyone else, though, on that target to get the evo point.
teaming up with people hardly helps...if the humans have defenses nearby (like they normally do) then you die. Fast.
What about building? What if I were to, say, make a forward base or two as a granger while I waited for my points to build up a little?

That's why some people advocate giving late starters evos/credits based on the stage the team is on, or in relation to the other team. It doesn't seem totally unreasonable.

Kinks need to be worked out, obviously. Server can't keep track of who already joined in that match once already?

It can, obviously. Every time you get disconnected and rejoin, the server asks about reestablishing your status. That would have to be enforced if such a feature would be implemented.

That's a really good point. In fact, that point right there just completely took me the support list for the idea of giving late joiners points. That would be abused. I think the currents methods are fine. Just build/repair or stay on defense. If you only have a rifle or something, stay next to some turrets and use their fire power as a boost, don't stray from something that can help you. As a human, work your way up. Sell your rifle after a couple minutes, get a shotgun, sell the shotgun, get a mass driver, etc... Eventually you'll be where you want.
