Title: Really annoying glitch
Post by: nubcake on October 22, 2008, 11:36:55 pm
As you can see below, even though my brush isnt using caulk or no draw or anything other than this wood texture, the chair is see through on these back supports. I have deleted them, remade them, tried other textures copied them and nothing works. Even if i copy them one may get fixed, but then another will become see through. This is getting frustrating. It also does it on some other things in the map. Any idea of what it is or how to fix it?

make sure none of your brushes are overlapping...  thats the only thing i can think of that would cause that...

Make sure you're not hiding any brushes, either.

I have double checked the overlapping brushes. Theres no overlapping brushes and i have deleted and remade many of them.

@Odin what do you hiding brushes?

Cut that four boards horizontaly and separate them from chair. It should work better.

In GTKRadiant manual (press F1) in Efficient Brush Building Techniques:

It cannot be overstressed. If you want shorter compile times and small file sizes, efficient brush construction is "critical" in building your map. There is one rule that stands above all:

DO NOT OVERLAP BRUSHES AT ANYTIME.
