Its not much, sorry for making this tread ::) - i would post in old thread "Human Female model", but sadly, it has been locked up :'(
So its not much but good to begin with. Made most of modeling and UV mapping*, most but not all. That's why i didn't post download file yet.
That's result of about 2 days (+ several more earlier) of work. I feel really tired :D

624 vertices, textured(so far) torso, legs - 512x512 jpg, head - 256x256 tga
i cannot continue making it throughout the week and i only get chance to put my hands on it in Friday / Saturday.
*i will add some more planes with hair texture and have to finish UV-mapping fist(quite pain in the ass... filling it with the other hand texture)
So write if you like it or not, any corrections needed? Ill post more wip renders later on :) :

>put it in action(hopefully)

i added also some hair texture(yes, this strand of hair in the front is sticking out from head mesh) and removed lame eye shadowing and fixed eyes themself =)
(ignore uneven skin, that will be fixed)

Also, the armor should be more streamlined than the male counterpart. Make it less bulky (I.E. Thinner), but give it a little more coverage area.

yeah nose is kind of weird, same goes for lips... ill try to repaint them, but its hard to make model look natural with limited verts. Agree also on outfit/armour design too.

yeah, seen this wip many times :) , but its all about experience i will gain when doing it(tags and other things). After that i may be able to do better things.
And when trem 1.2 is out anything i have started would be screwed - just not right quality level.

I'm not at all saying it's useless, in fact, chances are your project will be done well before 1.2 is.
Also, I think the different style is a bigger problem than the difference in quality level. With quality level differences, you just have to slave away at it for a while longer. With a new style, you have to start from scratch.

It's a good start, and with the right tweaks I think it could be a welcome addition to the game - people have been asking for a female model for years now. Also I can't help thinking that the polycount could be upped a little to smooth some of the blockiness since the average hardware spec of the community has increased since trem was released.

baking shadow, AO, Normal maps and UV texture itself? hmmm ok want to see the result- this is the longest way posible but whan its done it looks great

What you may be seeing is the waist/legs larger then the arms/chest making her look less athletic. If you compare the two images, you see that the one you pointed out has a less defined waist.

A female merc that has the bodily features of Paris Hilton is not the kind of merc I would want to fight alongside with. I rather have a somwhat muscular woman that is actually able to hold, and fire, a Lucifer Cannon.

no, because no one had made any human model(working one) for trem so far. I took this one just like i had taken flying alien - it was one of the best ideas and great part of comunity would like to see it if not play it.
If i ever get it look good/acceptable and finished i hope to make "making of" guide/tutorial to show people how i have made it, so that thay could try for themselves adding new look to the game.
To zaishaza: i hope you will get your model working and implemented, back when i started making Vandal(flying alien) there was other project taking place with same aim: adding flying alien - Fletch, model by chompers and coded by Risujin. Sadly the whole thing go necro, same his as mine. I haven't heard for long time from neither of them - so sad. As for OTSP the last glimmer of hope it will ever be implemented and enjoyed.

It would not be so good for a choose-able model-female type model to be in this game, it makes guys choose a female model and (((GAY)))..
And the model you design is quite fantastic but I see no good with Men/kids/boys designing female models in tremulous,

yep, as you see her ass is maybe too wide, arms are much too long... very much i had to remodel all of her body... than re-UVmap it and paint it.
Id like to know what you think... (head is not changed and don't worry about seams in texture i know easy way to solve the problem, but i need texture finished first)
as you can see she has new look, hopefully more futuristic. Texture and partly model aren't finished, but I'm working on it! Still I'm waiting for your opinions!

PS as you can see she is much more slim, this is because i think XX soldiers should be lighter, not able to take heavy guns and take that much damage but run faster and on longer distances
(they won't smoke that much ;) )

Supposing you add the changes to the head too, yeah, I'd say the new body is better. The hands are perhaps a bit too long, but not excessively so.
The only issue I have is with the uniform texture, I liked the first (duller) green better. If it's just the lighting in this particular screenshot then please ignore.
Also, I'd go for the standard male gray for boots and waistband. Reason being the same as for the shade of green -- you don't want colours to be too bright -- plus it would look too different from the male model.
How would the female model go with the human addons (armor etc.)? Do they also need modelling or do they simply go over the basic model?
Other than that I see no other issues. Provided we can get our hands on a set of female taunt + softer grunts, I'd be happy to see this appear in Trem as soon as tomorrow.
Naturally, it would be good to hear a woman's opinion as well, after all they're the ones who are supposed to be using the model.

like that? well it took me 3 min, because i made 2 layer suit (I'm talking about suit only not gear like eg. belt):
1) for shading
2) for colour
and belt can be easily changed to black and white, but i insist on checking the new version of armour(in new colours)... i think it will look ok, after all its not the same type of soldier.
About armour, not sure when it will be done. Maybe i should first end texturing base model (boots, seam removal). Base armour, is ready but not textured.

Moar you say? Hmmm... It seems good enough as it is... just how many polys is it?
Other than the poly count, I'd say it's pretty good. Don't get you hopes up, but if others such as Benmachine, Khalsa, Lakitu7 etc. see this wirk and LIKE it, there is a small chance that lakitu might mod tremulous for a boy/girl option of humans. Basically, it might go into the next version.

1. Put some muscle into that girl, Tremulous isn't for pussies and it won't make sense if the government/Brindus/whatever pays billions of dollars on clones thats isn't physically built for battle. :D

I'm taking a pause in modeling here... sorry, I'm moving to unvanquished to work on modification of model you see here and i mean great change - animations will be usable on this one tho so when i finish it the other one this one will be very much finished too.
(by the way where are all tremulous girls? vanished? - if so, what a great loss to the comunity :'( and how the hell will i know what make-up she needs)

Something like player1's second pic would probably be the best. It's not a Miss contest after all. I do hope nobody will have time to care about tits and tighs during a game and anyway there's more to women than stuff like that.
So it may seem easy, just covering most of the model in uniform. But it's not. :) A woman has another body configuration and specific walk and you should be able to tell a woman from a man just by the way they walk or run.
Speaking of which, is this customization restricted to just the model, or will it affect the movement too? Because if you can't adjust the movement too, like I mentioned above, then you'll have a woman model moving like a man's body, and it won't matter how she looks 'cause it will look strange anyway.

well, there is no pre-made animations that i have got in my reach, so i will have to do animations anyway... this might be great pain in the... back - lame animation of 6 legged creature from other world is nothing to recreation of woman's grace and agility movements.
about the legs... ill change it anyways as I'm planning to make her sly, vicious and swift character bringing death with grace in her moves as well in her look (so far i fail - but some day) just like they do in the real life :P

i have remodeled her upper (remodeled stomach, hands arms and shoulders) changed her face added some extra staff... I'm not happy with deformation and look of lower body... this time I'm going to do it in the right order:
1) model
2) animate - if something is not animating very well remodel it and try again
3) then UV map and paint it no sooner than animations are finished - almost done however I'm not sure who will get to painting it anyway... time will show

I wonder if a bunch of Wii remotes could be used as cheap motion capture sensors. Of course, I have no idea how you'd go about capturing and translating the data to a CG model.
