How do you cut out a part of a cylinder?
its a standard "Curve>Cylinder" brush, with the whole facing upwards. I want to cut out a section of it so that i can allow access. i dont need anything fancy, just cutting it in half would do.
Ive tried clipper, but it doesnt work, please help :)

The clipper tool will only cut brushes. Can you implement what you want from two cylinders?

not from what i know.
I think i may have found a solution, but ran into another problem. You know when you create a simple patch mesh (3x3) and your press V (vertices) it comes up with 9 points which you can manipulate.
Is there anyway to do that with a normal brush? Because normally the brush only has 4 points, on each corner.

ok make a brush about the size u want the cylinder to be, and instead of doing curve>cylinder, goto brush>(and i just forgot what its called) but select the top choice and then it will ask you how many sides you want, i usually go with about 10-25 sides.

that doesnt really help me, i have a cylindrical room and want to cut it open so people can actually get in. Or maybe im missing something obvious? Because all that does is make a solid cylinder

you can use the hollow tool to make it empty on the inside but then youll need to fix all the overlaping brushes.

From what I understand of your situation you may find it easier to make the room out of brushes, the curve wont be as nice but it will be easier to manipulate. However if you want perfect curves try using multiple inverted bevels.

Dont make a room out of meshes. Its hard to use, and also chews up PC resources. I would make the room a cylinder from brushes, then use hollow tool as some people have said
