Hey people I know you don't know me, and my name on the forum is not the same as in the game. (I am {300}SPARtaN in the game.  :) )

And I actually made my first playeble map!    It's a piece of art, and I have 1 year experience with GTK radiant.
(This map allso contains alot of secrets)

It looks really good (I love how open and large it is). However, it does appear to be a bit bland. I also like the skybox...mind sharing with us what skybox it is?

Also, how long did that take to compile? I mean, a giant outdoor map like that must've taken ages!

Actually 5 days....    But I got 1 year GTk radiant experience..

Anyway.    I bet you all wanted to see what are the secrets!  So I won't make you wait!   :)

EDIT: ohhh yea and the baricade will stand 60 seconds, and you will be able to push the button again after 30 seconds the baricade got down!

For a map like this your compile time should be max 5 minutes. For what structural is: http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/Starting+Tremulous+Mapping#DecorationDetailing (You should fully read that guide)

I think he means he made his map in 5 days. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
@DSL: Evoc was asking how long it took to COMPILE, not make.
This map needs loads of work. It's way to big and open (for Tremulous gameplay at least).
Rather then that giant patch mesh I think you should use tri-souping.

I kinda wish Lava was here, because then I wouldn't have to be the one to say this.

Your map, is bland. Brushwork is very "bleh", and it looks like you used maybe five textures in total.

And you say you have one year of mapping expriance? I mean, we all have to start somwhere, but after one year, you should've come up with something a bit more interesting than a huge open map with a few entity gimicks.

And why would you show us the easter eggs? Isn't the point to find them out for ouselves.

After taking a look, it seems Knowitall and Kaleo were right. Don't you think the aliens need at least some chance of winning? The only egg can be shot at all the way from the human base when alien base door is opened (there are barely any areas that can't be shot to from the front wall), and there is NO way a granger can get anywhere out of there without getting more holes then a swiss cheese. Both 2 ways into the castle can be shot directly from H base, and to get to h base, even as a dragoon you will need quite a few pounces while getting shot at.
You should add lots of houses and other places for aliens to hide in and move to, atm it is good only for target practice.

5 colours, open space and blandness. Quitely make eight other maps, then show us your tenth. It might be worth a blink.
