Help with vms.pk3
« on: January 24, 2009, 05:30:19 pm »
i downloaded the latest trem src. I made a couple edits in tremulous.h and now want to test the new edits.
from what i can tell you place the IU CGAME and GAME.qvm files in the vm folder into a zip rename xmod-vms-1.pk3.
Then you place that into user/application data/tremulous/xmod  (i am using windows xp)
When i did that i get the UI/MENUS.TXT cannot be found error so i made a xmod-ui-1.pk3 file and put the ui file from the compiled source inside.
then i placed this inside the user/application data/tremulous/xmod folder and added the autogen and ptrc.cfg from the base folder
then i tried booting up tremulous. It loaded but when i tried making mod xmod the mods i was using i still got the ui/menus.txt nor found..
what am i doing wrong?

I got the server working. Its up on the local servers list and i want to test it for bugs.
When i startup my reg client and try to join i get an invalid folder option.
how do i fix this besides setting sv_pure to 0?
and even hen i do i get a different error
cg_clientregister (,) error
when i check stderr it says i didn't load ui/menus but its there...

fs_homepath "base"

No. Let n00bs pick overly destructive Human weapons and then use them in their own base and around their own teammates. Maybe then they'll learn that doing that is a stupid idea. Meanwhile, I will be slashing at their damaged Armoury, after I vault their smoking turrets and the scattered bodies of their TK' d teammates. N00bs: they're what's for breakfast.
