Ok Ive added detail inside also unlike the screenys from the thread 'random map shots'. Another small fun map.. only 1 shader file so it wont mess with your trem directory (soz about before). 1 MB map too

Tell me what you think



EDIT: this is B2 :D

Fixes: alien base has purple flowers...
Glass can no longer be shot through + wallwalkable :)

Thanks, strange about the error, I havent included any particle systems or included anything like that... weird... thanks :)


Edit: Im uploading B2 due to 1 bug... Glass can be shot through :( Also I made the flowers near alien base purple so you dont get confused which was is which :)

Well, I really like your maps, but I wish you would spend some more time with detailing.
You have wonderful concepts and beautiful ideas, but it is ruined by the fact that everything is really boxy.  :-\
I would spend some time looking at maps like Arachnid2 to show how to break up the boxiness with architecture.

Anyways, I look forward to playing this map!

What he said mostly though, spend a bit more time on adding details and the like, and I'm sure your maps will become better.

Looks pretty darn good.

I'd also add some more scenery outside of the map to blend the skybox into the map (e.g. the acts spires, rising mountains like karith, buildings) instead of having that lack of continuity.

Also, i know you did this fast, but please of please, do a "taking my time" quality map. Your clearly very good, but you seem to be operating on a single day map, which means we dont get to see any detail.

I long for a quality nubcake map.

Thanks of input everyone :) I know im meant to add more detail and make my maps more '3 dimensional' but Ive been making a few boxy maps to compete with ATCS on Aussie Assault server, and so far have been successful. I will try to make a detailed map, and I think i have the right motivation to spend longer than a day on it too :) wish me luck... p.s try this map too :)

I think is better to have many -one day- maps that one detailed -year map-. There is around few very nice maps, very detailed and very big. But almost nobody playing it...

i disagree completely, admittedly, if your and experimental mapper like yourself, you want to just churn out loads of maps to see which gimics work. But in more conventional mapping you can find out what works just my clever mapping.

also reading my post back, it sounds like i prefer conventional maps, which i'd like ti clarify isnt the case, luff experimental maps ;) <3

No one plays the big awesome map because few people have autodownload on, or don't want to spend 3 minutes dling a map. Not because it's less good
I agree tho with the others, I'd love to see a map from you nubcake that you work on for like a month.

I dont think such map gonna be very popular. Except case when u release it for target group of players for gameplay testing. Im not talking about months. But week or so and you can create good version of 'it can be better, but good start anyway'. After it you can add thousands of details and tweaks very long time. =)

This is the logic I take on when I make maps fast... I dont want to spend a month on a map that no matter how good it is will only be played by a few players because a) people dont like downloading maps >1mb and b) custom maps usually are forgot. That being said im working on a map that will be very detailed (perhaps the most detailed map ever seen in trem imo) and will see how it goes.

But look at some Brainfaes maps and stuff.
I've seen em played all the time, cuz they're great, and they dont get forgotten really either.
