I'm sure its gonna turn some people off of 1.2 if the OFFICIAL server is abusive as all get out.
I'm certainly very seriously considering abandoning 1.2 if this is how its gonna be treated.

Yeah. I didn't want people to ruin games (okay, maybe kill a marauder or two, turn off a jetpack, but not harass people), I just wanted to confuse people and play off their paranoia. I was planning on putting the command to enable RC in the motd later on, once I'd seen how it played out (which as it happened wasn't very well).

Actually, now that you mention it, when NoXema thought something might be wrong with his computer I explained the entire situation to him in PM. I said in public chat that everything would be back to normal by tomorrow. It wasn't the best-kept secret in the entire world ever.

a joke like that, no less. i can understand b0rking the map rotation or even changing the qvm so dretches have 50hp, but rcon abuse is abuse any day of the year. this is something i'd expect on uBP or yarou's server (the one with the grav-well nades).

It wasn't rcon "abuse", it was a joke qvm.  Any spectator would have had the capabilities, not just server admins and whatnot.  I wish I could have seen it, sounds hilarious.  I'd love it if someone made a vid
