Texture being shown in wrong size.
« on: June 29, 2010, 01:17:26 pm »
I looked thru the mapping tutorial, searched google and searched this forum. I didn't find any answer.

I have following Problem: If I texture something, it just doubles or halfs the textures I use. Dont know why. I better post some screenshots for illustration:

GTK Radiant:

And ingame (have tried with more then one compilation method... using Q3Map2Toolz)

It is pure luck that that one box has its textures not displaced... it would'nt work on the rotated one...
I'm not sure if the textures on wall and ceiling are changed too.
The small lightcubes (background of last pic) only look like they should because I made them look "wrong" in GTK... They wouldnt work aswell...

Its quite annoying

I use Gtk Radiant 1.5
Update: Netradiant does the same.

Edit: I use the compiler that came with netradiant and it works as intented. It seems Q3Map2Toolz is bugged!!! (exept for the mappacker)

Hats because you need to fit the textures or scale it how you want.
To do that, press 's' in radiant when your face you want to change the texture on is selected, then hit fit, or change the values in the scale boxes.

I know...
Did you look at the second and at the fourth (2&4) picture? Pic 2 is how GTK shows it, Pic 4 how tremulous does. From the sam angle. Inbetween NOTHING happened. it just got saved, GTK got closed by me, the map got compiled with Q3Map2Toolz, packed into pk3 with same tool, and "devmapped".
But maybe your post will help ppl that are really that stupid incabable... ;D

Aaand: I solved it...
After 3 days I post in this forum, after 3.01 days I find the solution... stupid:

The Compiler from Q3Map2Toolz seems to be bugged... If I use the INTERN netradiant compiler and only use Q3Map2 for the PK3 the textures appear 1 to 1
