I wager that the real reason emotion icons are disabled is so that TremStats names do not look retarded.

The argument "so players can easily be actioned against" is void because I could easily recreate the same issue through other means such as making my name "lAk" and then trolling the server, players would have to use my slot number because my entire name is a part of the name "Lakitu7" meaning there would be multiple matches, and people would not notice the similarities between "lAk" and "Lakitu7" because of the colour and casing.

If players require at least three characters together in their name excluding an emotion icon, they can still be actioned against through either partial name or slot number.

Adding emotes to tremstats would be trivial, they're already there for build messages, adding for chat and names wouldn't be hard.

I disabled them on US1. There was a bug that allowed partials to work, which was recently fixed.

As far as I'm concerned they will remain disabled on US1.

This is the real reason. They were annoying.

And another thing, can you please make it so that capital "i" doesn't look exactly like a lower case "l"? I've noticed a few people impersonating others by doing that to make their names look exactly (and I mean exactly) like somebody else's name, even admins. It's not really that big of a big deal, I just thought I'd bring it to light. ;)

Thats a problem with the default font, most games have that issue as most game used fonts have that character design.  I would love to see that fixed as well but I was under the impression you can change your in game font yourself without making your client impure.  Though I'm not positive.  I swear some servers have different fonts just like huds have different sizes of font.

Also I agree that emoticons in names is just retarded and annoying.

Very true. For a while Iabz was called (got himself to be called?) Labz due to the fact you could only tell the difference in the console, in which you can see the difference.

And yes, I also believe emoticons are annoying in names.
