« on: July 27, 2010, 12:03:47 am »
Hay can some one tell me step by step how to put my own models into tremulous like for example the image bellow.    I just want to mod trem with my own models just to see how it would look and futher stuff.    someone told me how to do it kinda but I tried it on mac osx 10.4.11 laptop. But it was an epic fail. So I just decided to go to my old dinosaur PC laptop I have and try it on there :'(. Please help me.Just a tutorial on PC. if you tell me how to do it and it works I will personally make whoever a model that they request. Just draw it out...              O and I know how to export and import md3 just saying....

The easiest and simplest way is to just replace the current files with your own, using the names already there so you could change the current rifle.md3 into your own file called rifle.md3 and replace other appropriate files such as the skins to fit your model, all while keeping the same file names.

Open the data-1.1.0.pk3 (but never change that file itself!), find the model you want to replace, create an identical folder structure to where the file is in the data-1.1.0.pk3, put your model in the newly created folder/subfolder and zip that whole thing up, then rename it to .pk3.

For example if you want to replace data-1.1.0.pk3/models/weapons/blaster/blaster.md3, you need to:
create models/weapons/blaster folder & subfolders,
put your own blaster.md3 in there,
compress your models/ folder with the stuff in it to a .zip,
rename to z-myblaster.pk3 or something (the file name has to be alphabetically after data-1.1.0.pk3).
