Hi there everyone.

My name is Jake and together with my friend Chuck (aka Nubcake)we created a map called tremship.
It has been very popular on Aussie Assault, and we are even working on specific versions for Z server, and have had unconfirmed reports that kor plays it.

Explanation of the map is below, it was made for Aussie server with around 25 people, but if any other servers would like to play it and need some changes to cope with larger numbers please let me know and ill be happy to help :)

It is a map loosly based around the Starship Troopers theme where humans defend against hordes of aliens.
The map itself differs from normal play in that it is purely a survival match on the humans behalf. I will explain.
They humans start with several hundred build points worth of defence behind a barricade wall.
The goal is for humans to defend there outpost for a full 25 minutes after the first member is spawned. their base is quite large and 2 armouries are invulnerable. However their turrets nodes etc are not, and once a building dies, it cannot be replaced.

On the other hand aliens start with eggs which the humans cannot kill, they also get a booster from the start. The humans cannot use helmets, battlesuits or the jetpack which means they need their turrets and Tesla's to survive.

At the start aliens will be dretch rushing through tunnels and over mountains. As the aliens gain evos the humans will start to lose parts of their base from goons etc. It is very important for the humans to try not to feed!

If humans have managed to survive to the 25 minute mark it gets interesting.A bomber will fly over the map and kill the aliens eggs, a few seconds later a the bomber/shuttle will fly down in front of the humans base wait for a minute then fly to the mothership in orbit.
The aliens at this point can choose to stop the humans getting on the shuttle, or run off. and the humans can just rush until they are on the transport and taken to space. Where they nuke the planet killing all aliens and winning the game.


After 3 trial versions, we genrally find this map lasts between 18 minutes to 27 which is why the bomber comes at 25, to give the humans a fighting chance.

I should probably add that the whole idea of this map is just a high kills game and instant action that wont stop because a team is afraid to come out - alien feeding means absolutly nothing!

I played this once. It was 25 mins of camping. But then, the spaceship was nice!

I've played this map already too, but i think just the b3. Anyway: I love it. Really good work and also good looking (many 'special' maps have little to no design, this however has :)).The only thing I dislike a bit is that in the end, if you are human and the last alien gets killed, you can't do the shuttle-ride. Maybe you could not kill the eggs but instead activate a teleporter that teleports all aliens to  room or something similar outside the map, so the humans can still nuke the planet.

It's actually quite a fun map and the spaceship is a nice touch.  8)

Ya so many games are campy games anyways so we decided to embrace it. Thats why aliens get a booster to start with and humans dont get helmets nor bsuits. Its all about action, running and killing.

 Tips:
 Aliens:
 * Try to get a goon and take out turrets one at a time
 * Use the booster whenever possible
 * Dont be afraid to rush for 'feeding'. Remember the only benefits humans will gain will be the weapons, and on a large map like this, pulse rifle and luci arent very good!


 Humans:
 * There is no need to run out! Defend base at all costs.
 * Remember to duck! Dretches will be able to get onto the roof and 1 hit kill you otherwise...
 * When (if) the spaceship lands, try to spam the entrance into it otherwise a clever alien will hide in there and kill you as you enter it

Interesing map. I had similar idea, but for ambush mod, where humans starts in spaceship in air, fly trough clouds to the ground and then fight begin.

Working on a sequal now where that is the case, we originally started making assult maps for ambush, however human opponents are much more fun to play against because they can out think u and use stratergy, also they dont get stuck behind stuff.

Looks great.

Nubcake, I've said it before, but I really like your rough terrain. Any chance you could post the map file so I can have a look at the brushwork? I've got a WIP which could really use some rockwall goodness.

Maybe you could somehow program the map time for the ship to come depending on the number of players with a minimum of 10/15 and a max of around 45-60. Can you also get another spaceship to come because 1 isn't enough because it can only hole 8.

Unfortuately if u saw how it works you would realise that isnt actualy possible, its on a func train, not to mention there wouldnt be room for it. However as i mentioned i will change a version for a server if the server opps ask for it. Also in the sequel the ship has 14 seats +cockpit so can prob fit about 20 if they dont move. I am considering putting this expanded ship in the b5.

True, as you'll need another seperate path for it. Just make them come in an order. Actually, make the same spaceship come down 2wice so aliens get a better chance of getting a builder or at least an alien in.
Can you add a spot where grangers can hide as you can't wall-walk train functions?

Remember the idea i told you (I was zdrytch) the other day? Press n on a worldspawn and scroll for commands or scripts or what ever and look at the one with "stage1/2threshold" and it DOES work unless the server is a mod server like z server where you start off s3.

B5 is finished and due to be released very soon. There is also a version where humans need to attack an underground alien base which will probably be released aroudn the same time

I found a bug in beta 4: the teleporter button (yes, i found where it was) somewhat only activates one in 10 times i play it. And you need to hide the teleporter (and the button) in a more realistic position like in zombie mod. I found the button where if you shoot the ground, the bullet markes get cut of somewhere, and leaves a quite large rectangle on the floor.

absolute coolest map ive ever played  its awesome really good job guys :D ive played the zombie version too also very good please make more maps like this especially with spaceships picking you up at the end thats on of my favs :D
