But whyyyyy?
It's useless to set up another repo..
I mean, how hard is it to download, run installer, click options and run Trem?

a lot harder than 'sudo aptitude install tremulous', and it's a lot easier to get rid of it later. some people use aptitude search (or apt-cache search) to find stuff to play around with, so someone searching for an fps can find tremulous a lot more quickly. besides, debian already has it so it's almost trivial to include in ubuntu
edit: also, you have no idea how easy it is to make a complete mess of your filesystem if you install everything from sources or binary installers, thats why i had to format over my fedora install (and this time i chose ubuntu)

tremulous may be easier than others to work with with a binary installer, but many people prefer .deb 's and apt in general, for example, i have vmware server installed so i don't have to dual boot, and every time i get a kernel update, i have to manually reconfigure vmare, when it could have been done automatically (like nvidia's drivers do because they are in the repository)
