Sounds pretty good overall, but I am a bit concerned over
- Insulting the establishment (devs/forum / server admins) is usually a trolling attempt, I'll treat those as such.
I would appreciate it if you would be a bit more specific, else I could see feedback/criticism ending up getting people banned, which is the opposite of what this community needs.
Also, although this just got mentioned I thought of it when I first read your post so I figured I would add it again. It would be a lot easier (and you could be a lot more discriminant) if there were a few more members dedicated to keeping these forums clean. Just a thought.
My banhammer is usually light as a feather, for example, the last person to get a ban from me
was Bunker Gate Seven, and he got a 5-day no-posting ban. I don't think that's particulary harsh.
As for rules, they're already there:
3.) Healthy debates in topics are allowed. Flaming to the point of insult-trading is NOT okay.
4.) No spamming or advertising (includes useless multi-posts and bumps.)
6.) Criticism must be constructive.
6b.) Do NOT harass other members.
6c.) Do NOT troll!
It is mostly about the
Flaming to the point of insult-trading is NOT okay.,
because that's what a lot of threads have degraded to.
Until now all this means I just delete more posts than I used to and I do have the feeling it had an effect:
the board has been a bit calmer the past few days.
And yes, more moderators would be nice, I was asked to become moderator some time ago
when there was a clear lack of active moderators, and we're a bit in a similar situation now.
There's talk behind the screens about appointing new mods, but I'm not involved in it.
