Would be great for those times you know a tyrant has been walking around, and that red blip in your radar is right on the other side of a door.

Great for you maybe, but not fun for the tyrant -- what you're describing is an overpowered lucifer cannon that can't be refilled for free. I know grenade cooking is fun in certain other games, but I don't see a place for it in the current iteration of Tremulous.
