i think i found a bug
« on: August 17, 2006, 12:15:00 am »
recently i was testing my map for shaders and making sure every thing works in the map and long and behold in several areas i 'appear' to get zapped by the reactor.
i received no dmg but i saw a zap on my scream while walking in these areas i  thought nothing of it until i died over near the human base where a Turret shot me.

as i watched my dead body the wall next to me was zapping me.

the reactor was around the corner and WAY out off site and the zap came high on the wall and coming from the other direction from the reactor i took a screen shot of it but to my stupidness (yes vent i said im stupid)

i had dinner and turned it off and i forgot  about it until i went back.

i frustation i tried to replicate it with no luck.

TURRET! It's TURRET! Not Turret! Turret is no word! TURRET! LEARN IT!!!

Other than that, no idea if it's a bug or you misbuilt your map...

If this does not occur in the regular maps, then it is a problem with your own map and has nothing to do here... head on over to the mapping section.

That's probably the phantom zap bug that occurs sometimes. You can have things like a Tyrant zaping a dretch ( yes, even through wallss ) when they get close enouth for example. Not map specific.
urphy's rules of combat
8 ) Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.
18 ) Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.

the bug (at least i think this is the same bug) is easily reproducible on nexus6. all you have to do is move the reactor to the room directly above the back of the alien base (with all the pipes under it). then have an alien wallwalk under the reactor, you will get zapped but take no damage (in fact you might even keep a different alien from getting zapped)

Ok let's plan it out. Asva, you are nub, go sit on rets, I will build, you two go feed like hell, you go pwn their asses, and everyone else camp in the hallway, roger?
the dretch bites.
