And the Fat Nerd speaks (dev).   ;D :o

ANYWAYS. It isn't only 1 person. This isn't the only forums I'm constantly harassing with this idea either. I have maybe 20ish or so Tremulous players that are contributing to this project already. I'm not alone & this won't be the only Tremulous video we make. We've got a lot more ideas that have been planned out and written down. They just need to be processed and the other steps will follow.

Thank You Flash for the support and the help. Maybe you can open these guy's eyes, but most of them are just the ghosts of Tremulous so that is why I'm not very bothered by their words.

Well, we've got work to do!

Of course, why wouldn't I? I'm letting you know that I've acknowledged your pathetic post and then afterwards I very simply dominate it. Duhhhh!  ;)

EDIT: Please give me more -/dislikes or whatever. I could care less. Looks kinda cool actually. I feel like a bad ass.

I generally respond on if i feel like it anyway whether the post influences me a teeny bit or not.
If one person could revive Tremulous, it would have been done already.
Rather, if we're lucky enough to have one person who knew the ultimate method and had the power to do so, or probability bias (*cough cough* president of Ukraine suddenly releases to the public they became addicted to videogames, namely projects like trem, or NASA worker accidentally destroys the mars rover when playing as a tyrant on ATCS)

---UPDATE---

So I've Created a website for this Project. It's looking good so far but I've only been working on it all night which in reality isn't a long time. I still have a lot of work to do on it!

This website is designed to help gather players who actually wanna help or at least keep updated with the idea. You MUST register to view anything on these forums (keeps unwanted bots out). A Lot of work has been put into these forums (A lot of my own GFXs and stuff). On these forums it'll be much easier to throw in ideas for a video (could be this one or it could be a future one) We could also talk about the group types we can create for certain types of videos (comedy, cool as shit, etc.)

To be ranked and what not on these forums is not by being a good friend or in the same clan as me. I want everybody to have an equal opportunity to help out if they wish and rank up and what not. I have personal intel on a few players and I know others that have even more intel that can be helpful so everything will be clean on these forums.

If you would like to help me out on the forums PM me here or on the website. If you have any questions just post below.

Your banner is an Unvanquished screenshot. What the fuck are you doing.

Two of your screenshots are taken directly from the Wikipedia page. Most of the others seem to be from the Tremulous website.

Are you seriously so lazy that you use a banner shot from another game and you can't even take your own screenshots of the game you're trying to promote?

Look at this:

Excuse me? What about the Tremulous Folders I Have from now to 6 YEARS ago? You think I wasn't apart of a lot of these screenshots/knew about them or anything like that?

You guys need to relax, this is a non-profit Project.

I can't make this as Tremulous as I want? It's a Tremulous Revive Project, should I go get some fat dude from WoW and put it on there instead? I worked on it for a god 5 hours last night. Midnight - 5am so sorry if it's not amazeballs because well.. 5 hours to create a website isn't shit. I still got a good week before it's finished. Also it's a forums, why would you think that I'm gonna go all out and give the internet my money for a project that a good amount of people are putting down?

I am certainly my own person. Look up my IP moron.

And yes, I did but use an UNV. Shot because all of the shots that I find on Google are either small or of horrible quality, you should have seen the one I had before that, it looked like shit compared to the current one. I also wanted to use pictures that are FAMILIAR to old Trem players or to players who have merely 'seen' or 'read' about Tremulous. Familiar shots have a higher percentage of gathering those players.  SO yes, thank you for analyzing my stuff and telling me what I already know. It wasn't a waste of time or anything.

Sorry the Unvanquished Models and GFX are better then yours? Probably why Im using them. Also, IF trem does get a mini spark to revival then boom we're good.. It'll also help move those players to Unvanquished when the time comes.

You guys think that I haven't thought this plan out, when in reality... I'm about 100 steps ahead of you. Please post some useful stuff instead of fighting with me every chance you guys get. It's getting hella immature and actually really annoying.

I also think you tried to make me look like garbage. Umm.. Let's see. What about the stuff that I actually did make?

Just 5 of the things I've done. If you're really interested you'll check it out instead of killing off all hope.

I can tell you're frustrated for having put effort into something and having only derisive feedback to show for it. I'm sorry about that. I personally don't want to make anyone feel bad: I just like making points and hopefully getting people to consider things they hadn't already. To this aim I'd like to ask some questions and make some points about the following:

Welcome One & All to the Project Revive Tremulous Forums.

The Whole Point of bringing you guys to these forums was to help get everything situated. Posting on a hundred different Tremulous websites to keep everyone updated (people who don't care either) wasn't very productive. A forum for this will help keep everything in place and easier to find and hopefully bring some players together.

I wanted to get this forum going because this Video needs to get started already and we need it to be fantastic. This isn't going to be just another Tremulous Video. It's time to come together as one so that we can Revive Tremulous before it's permanently over. We all have some sort of Love for this dying game. We all have some sort of memories and we all have our very 'own' road we chose throughout our entire Tremulous lives. I'm not ready to let go & I'm hoping that you guys aren't either.

There is a chance that this fails, but with enough videos being shot out into newbies faces, It's very possible to get Tremulous running again. With a lot of hard work and some Advertising we can do it.

Anyways, feel free to take the time to make an Introduction thread or post a few suggestions or anything else that you can think of on here. I want this website amazing as well as our videos. If you would like to help out just PM me on here or post below so that we can chat a bit.

Thank you for the Support guys, we can do it.

Firstly, could you clarify what 'Project Revive Tremulous' is? On your site, you make it sound like the entire project is a single video. Wouldn't it be better to talk about the video as just one part of a larger plan to 'revive tremulous'?

Secondly, I hope you're not saying what it sounds like you're saying: That you intend to use this new site instead of posting to various forums on various sites. Surely, for any advertising campaign to be effective it must be visible in many places rather than just one place. I can see the logic in centralizing development work, but that's not the same thing as centralizing the campaign itself. It's hard work to maintain all those separate points of dialogue, but it's also necessary for the goal you wish to achieve.

You seem to be counting your chickens before you even have any eggs.

It seems like you're now putting all the eggs you don't have into one basket!

Look up my IP moron.

Poor choice of words, my friend. I'm struggling to find much which qualifies as 'your IP'.

You're right. The entire post you've made is 100% right. I've just lost my patience here because of the members. They love putting me down and always have since I've been here. It's to much to keep cool when you have IRL problems and then when you try to do something helpful you get shot down. Every other forum I've been on hasn't treated me like how I've been treated here, even the ones who strictly have a bitter taste for me. Those guys have been the most helpful, they know who they are. :)

Anyways.. Thank you, Nux. I'll try to keep it cool.

So that post was created somewhere around 5am my time (hence I didnt sleep til 5am) so it's worded a little funky. I should have probably waited til I was fully capable instead of being hard headed and trying to get people to check out the progress, but what can I do now?

I'm Also going to be getting into depth with the entire Project once I figure out how I want it worded and such. But the plan was only 1 video. Later on a few friends of mine PM'd me and told me that I should try to get a few videos out there so that more people can see it, which is initially the goal. So the plans have changed from 1 video to a few videos and then after those few we'll see how it goes.

But yes I worded it very poorly. The website is to centralize the ideas/members/work. The other forums will be updated as much as possible as long as they're not spammed but most of the gatherings and discussions will hopefully be moved to this new website.  :dragoon:

Thank you very much for your help here, Nux. It's much appreciated! :)

And he has nothing to worry about. I had those images up to make the website look pretty. Even though they are GFX and I never said they were mine I've still changed them to save the tension.

bullshit. real men enjoy giving and receiving explained criticism, because they understand that such things are for the overall good. it is loserish to push criticism away.
now i see why you want to make a whole forum for the discussion of 1 fucking video. you want to maintain a false fantasy of being good at something and creating something that is uncriticizable. you want to achieve that by deleting all comments that shatter that fantasy.

Explained Criticism? You've been doing it all wrong bud.
WRONG.1
You dont criticize by being a ass-hat dickwad
however, in general, criticism is not incompatible with being an ass-hat dickwad.
you do it by being helpful and actually pinpointing the problems.
pointing out problems is exactly what i'm doing. whether that is a help to you depends on your intentions. if you're conducting things in good faith, and are honestly, accidentally committing mistakes due to little experience in life, then criticism aimed at supporting goodwill should help; however, if you plan on just fucking with (even the "half" of) other people, then the said criticism will be the exact opposite of what you'd prefer.
Re-Read Nux's posts and then read all of yours and tell me how you're criticism method is right and his is wrong.
what do you mean by "method"?
  • if you mean the tone of expression and such, then that may be a matter of opinion. i reason with the following: if someone makes effort to validate or rate your content, actions, intentions, statements, etc.; then he or she is entitled to phrase his or her findings without making it sound like you're a higher-order person, or like he or she is sucking your dick to avoid getting in trouble. and that is how i present critics.
  • if you mean what sort of information is given, then sufficient2 explanations ("evidence") supporting the stated critic-claims are a must, as otherwise, the target would generally have no option but to guess whether the criticism is true, making the criticism useless. in fact, i wouldn't even call unexplained criticism "criticism", just "flaming". note: whether the criticism is what the target would have ideally dreamed to hear has no bearing on whether the criticism is WRONG: criticism aims to prevent the doing of useless work; ie., if an idea contradicts science, is extremely improbable to succeed, or is otherwise too dangerous, then shooting down the idea is the best thing to do, for the benefit of all goodwill.
i generally give sufficient amounts of explanations. however, if i see that the target does not seem to process the critics or the explanations -- for example, continuing without giving reply-explanations for why the other critics or explanations are actually WRONG -- then i start to see the target as what he or she probably is: just a troll.
the criticism, that i have given in this thread, conform to the method described.
i never said that Nux's criticism is WRONG, and with either of the said interpretations of "method", i wouldn't label his method as WRONG.

1 bold statement is met with a bold reply.
2 what is sufficient varies inherently; for example, no explanation is needed for [1].

IN B 4 a bunch of fatass 21+ year old nerds start trying to pick apart a recent high school graduate's hopes and dreams to revive a game he has always loved.
you really practically haven't read anything in this thread, especially my stance towards this and other projects in general.
We live in a world where the washed up 21+ year old developers have to pick on a younger kids dream of making a youtube video.
or provide c-r-i-t-i-c-s that aid the project.
No where in his initial first post did he insult or come-at any of you guys.
neither did i (in my first post).
All he is trying to do is make something of this video
and has my critics for the better.
and try to get people to play Tremulous again till UNV comes out.
he should also support people playing Tremulous even after U*********** comes out. or even: try to get the U*********** people (a wh00pin' 10 !) to come to Tremulous.
Stop wasting your energy on typing negativity on this thread and offer some help.

you're probably one of those fatass old guys with a crazy beard right?
from your point of view, "probably". but i assure you that that isn't the case.
You've gotten yourself way too deep into this and are now going to receive shit for it.
nwhahahahaha.
I really want your IRL name or Facebook so I can personally attack and bully you, your children, your partner, or any immediate family members into submission.
you'll soon hear from my lawyer. btw, i don't use Facebook.
You are the shit on every sidewalk that people step in.

Please quote this a bunch of times with different responses to each sentence.

Let it be known this post was directly pointed at Dev Human Controller. Listen buddy, aforementioned; you're probably one of those fatass old guys with a crazy beard right? Yeah, I hope you know DeathReaper graduated from high school this year. That's right, you're fighting relentlessly with a teenager who just wants to make a youtube video. You've gotten yourself way too deep into this and are now going to receive shit for it. This isn't some pretty post where I quote everyone of your sentences and use big words and bullshit support to back it up. I really want your IRL name or Facebook so I can personally attack and bully you, your children, your partner, or any immediate family members into submission. You are the shit on every sidewalk that people step in. Please quote this a bunch of times with different responses to each sentence. I really want to see this. Please great god dev human controller sir you are so cool why can't I be like you? Please recognize me. I'm just a teenager trying to support my friend I should be your prime target right? You should be criticizing me right? Because I'm young, ignorant and naive and I don't have the knowledge you do right? Please oh great lord sir just recognize me. I'm sorry I don't have your amazing editing skills and all the + turrets you have. I'm sorry I don't have the giant post count and ego you have. I'm sorry I can't feel awesome behind the tremulous forums like you can. Spare me oh great lord sir please.

quoting this incredible thing for posterity

Calm down.
finish it.
The first thing I noticed is the spine rip. That was a special finishing ability in Zombie Smashes x2. Such an awesome game. You got it after getting arm-ripper (rips arms off) and head popper (beheads the enemy). I found the arm ripper more useful in that game because it meant that there are now three items to pick up and throw around instead of just a spine and a dead body. Throwing car engines, smacking pirates, ninjas and vampires 5 times a second is awesome.
