Stop this retarded talking about 'realism'. It's misplaced.

Last time I looked it was realism that made games more fun. If all the humies had to do was launch a wave of sentient robots and sit back and  watch from a hover chair, this game would suck.

That's exactly what hummies from the future would do. And they wouldn't fight a war in queue where they'd need to earn money by killing aliens either. And they'd probably nuke from orbit instead of sending troops with nothing but an outdated machine gun down to get killed.

Some things make sense in games, some things don't. When it comes to the helmet though, I agree. It's kind of ridiculous visually, and needs some improvement. It just looks wrong, even if the aim of the game isn't realism.

Yes, but realism cannot be the driving factor for a visual change to the helmet. If realism was the driving factor, you should remove the Aliens.

It isn't realism, just aesthetics.

And it's not like a better version of the helmet isn't already out there. How difficult, exactly, would it be to switch the two at popular request? This change isn't a big thing, it isn't a gameplay change or a tactical upheaval or anything. The current helmet model looks dingy and it'd be nice to have a replacement, that's all.

Amen.

Some people want to change the helmet model simply so that it LOOKS like it'll provide head protection, since it does.
