hmmmm... sounds better
but it could be something like this
but it's my opinion
also, note that the music I posted here is japanese song by Gackt, one of the most popular singers of Japan.
The first part is really neat, I loved the first part, sounds like as if a meteor is crashing to Earth (but you could put that as if it has to do with an egg hatching dretch) And then goes to "war"

the second one is better but maybe a few BOOMS would improve it :D. to make a comparison it's like megadeth's song crush'em: it has a lot of potential but it just doesn't give you that kick in the balls that make you want to press x equiped with a psaw and total the OM.

thanks for all the hard work so far, i'm looking forward to your next release ^^
It's actualy Noobius but i can't be bothered to change it ^^

Just to get this right, is this the mood the "darker and more scary"-people are looking for.

wow. impressive work.

but I would agree with Ksempac and reverse it so that it starts slow and scary and then progresses to the intense part.
this would IMO reflect the gameplay best.

Had no time over the weekend, but found some today...

http://www.skore.de/images/stories/music/Song_129_03.mp3
http://www.skore.de/images/stories/music/Song_129_03.ogg

It grew a tad less scary at places I'm afraid.

Enjoy!  :D

[edit]Note that this is a headphone mix, so it may sound too roomy on speakers. Will work on correct stereo image tomorrow - just had to get this out :)[/edit]

Thanks a lot :)

The "science" part are field recordings of computer engineering courses btw :D We happen to have a exercise lecturer with an awesome voice and completely strange style of talking.

Oh and has anybody got an idea what I have to do to get a developer reaction on this? I've already sent one of them a notice but have no reaction so far...

I'm starting to get a hang on the music demographics here :)

I guess there is one part hard rock/ heavy metal guys and one part electronic music guys. The first didn't occur to me directly until I listened to the Tremulous webcast. I guess to really suit everybody, I would need some rock and guitar influences, which I both can't offer (I'm completely not coming from that background ;)).

Anyways - thanks again for the comments :) Could I make the guess that you're coming from a more Rock-related background then, Henners?

I would love it if modular sound logic based on the radar implementation was coded in. For instance as you turn a corner where fighting is progressivly faster music would be played (as thus music would be a set of files). The only problem is that would be a pretty hefty addition to the game.

Just wondering, what do you use to produce your music? Hardware or soft?

Humans = Metal (mostly Finnish Death Metal, but some Swedish Sleaze Rock is OK, too) XD
Aliens = industrial electronic goth death speed thrash core garage horror punk (the darker the better, but some old skool Detroit/NY glam would be funnier) : ) (Something like the Vines - FTW comes to mind).

Music comes from key structure: Reactor/Overmind; the closer you are to base, the louder the music is. Each map could have about an hour's worth of music by obscure bands on a loop. Campers would never leave base. "Yeah, we'll attack... right after this song." :D

Holy crap.  That song is awesome, and it fits trem really well.

Do you mind if I make a video with it?  Another promo trailer, but really showing off the scarier side of the game.  I've never made a video like this before, but I've done plenty of other AMV's, so I don't think I'd screw up that bad.

PS.  I'm new here.  Long time player, first time poster.

Hey bud, welcome to the forums.  What program do you use for your video editting?  I've been thinking of getting into a bit of that myself.

Best wishes on your promo trailer!

Hmm... for video editing I use crappy old ghetto Windows Movie Maker.  It's really nothing serious for me, I just do it at times when I'm bored, or when (as in this case) I hear or see something that immediately inspires me.   There are far better programs than WMM and far more qualified people to tell you about them.  I just use it cause it came with my PC.  I'm 16, I don't have a job, and if I did, I sill probably wouldn't use it to by video editing software.

Anyways, if I am to make a video using this song, it should have a name for it.  I was thinking of the name "Paranoia", as I think it fits the claustrophobic nature of both the song and the game itself.  What do you think?

BTW, I've got all my ideas sketched out into my head.  I've also got a 4-hour busride tomorrow to somewhere, so I'll probably write the script then.  One question:  is there anyway to completely disable the hud in Tremulous?  If not how would I go about recording good, solid, in-game footage?  Any suggestions?

For aliens and spectators, you simply need to /cg_draw2d 0

For humans, you need to /cg_draw2d 1 and /cg_drawgun 0

I'm assuming you know that those get input in console, and to undo the commands you just replace the 0 with 1.
