I think the chances are fair that there'll at least be a Mac port of 1.2 for two good reasons.

1) tjw did the current Mac port of Trem
2) tjw's server is where the current play-balancing is going on, iirc

Only added feature: the update is included.

I am a novice gamer but want to thank you for this great game. I don't know what I'm doing but am "muddling along" and I can say the newest version definitely works. However, so far I haven't done much but wander around different corridors and view the great graphics in this version. I really don't know what I'm doing but I am more than willing to learn.

the learning curve in Tremulous can be weird.
I did'nt get it at all, but all the sudden it hits you, or better yet. You hit them!
You bite the damn human, or shoot the alien right in its bloody face.

I'm currently using the new mac 1.1.0 test version along side PC players. As a long time first person shooter (since Wolfenstein 3d days) I love tremulous, I run a newer Imac that pretty powerful and have almost no complaints.  Find the mac test version on the FAQ on the main page.

i have a Powerbook G4 but i think i'll soon get a macbook but anyway. is there a way to get bots for mac?  :-\

default.cfg is in data-1.1.0.pk3, so for whatever reason tremulous can't find it.
It looks in the CWD by default, so run it from the right directory.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

It should be there, unless you installed it somewhere else (bad idea).

CWD is probably /apps/Tremulous, correct me if I'm wrong.
