Ex; Choose human color skin / choose alien color skin

so you can be a goon ALL black...

How this work? Easy, a system which allows you to choose colors for all your models... and also faces / body / feet / arms and that stuff... might b complex to do tho

For humans, I want the faces to be interchangable, as well as the gender.

For aliens, to have any color changes would not work since it'd be hard to tell normal aliens from advanced aliens.

If it was a simple marking, like a tribal tatoo that you could customise, that'd be cool.

To have the model itself have a different skin would require advanced species to have more unique models. Something like: 3 tails on +basi, horns on +mara, 3-5 spikes sticking out of the back of +goon (Porcupine style).

Ah, character customizability.

Possible Human options:
Pick a uniform color, we got Hunter (Dark Green), Slate (Light gray), Brown, Charcoal (Dark Dray), and White.
Pick a gender.
Pick a face style.

Possible Aliens options:
Pick a symbol/glyph.
Pick a color.

I think what tinman said about a shader would be more efficient then multiple actual skins. But for player models check out my model generation thread. I also hope that players don't push for sexually explicit models/skins to be packaged with trem. Female representation would be good, but the main reason is often sexual fulfillment by males. Please, that's just lame. Get a real girl for that on a real relationship.

Once my exams are over in a week or so, I'll work on a female model. But expect no cleavage or miniskirts.

I was under the impression that it all was to be chosen from preset options, most of it based on shaders.
Hey, you could even do 2 variables.
Primary: Shirt & Pants.
Secondary: Armor Padding (Light gray sections)
Battlesuits are cookie-cutter, sorry.

(and couldn't a suitable model be imported from another opensource Q3-based game)?

if Trem used to be all Sarges
couldn't a modeller just grab Major
and make similar sensible alterations?
anyway silly suggestions occur to me sometimes...

and yeah I don't need UT-style multiple skins
and weakass taunts
save that crap for Unreal

Hmmm...

That would be awesome if we could copy and paste any pictures we have onto it... I would put a like a smiley face on it or maybe even a big red target. lol

I love this idea because it is much much much much easier to recognize faces, rather than reading the names from person to person. Aliens will be like OSHI when they see my face. Plus, aliens get to figure out which players are capable of killing them or not.

As for the bad pictures... I'm afraid we'll have to leave that to the admins.
