Current advanced marauders have chain lighting as their alternate attack and for area effect damage.

The developers are currently trying to improve the game to more fun, encourage players to play the less popular alien classes (marauders and basilisks).  I suggest to give Marauders bombs graphically similar to advanced dragoon barbs to make the class more useful, fun, and inline with its strengths.  Marauders are made for evasion and aerial attacks.  Bombs like these would encourage players to learn new skills and allow them to attack bases without the drawbacks of having to stay put (or in range) like with chain lighting.

Barbs should fall directly below the marauder
A small amount of area of effect damage on impact
Deal around 45 damage.

Stage 1 marauders should be able to drop 1 barb per 2 seconds.
The advanced marauder should be able to drop 2 barbs per 2 seconds.

If you give bombers to aliens, I want anti air flak guns for humans. You can copy the Unreal Flak gun for that effect :P

It doesn't feel the same :cry:

Note that I'm talking about the Flak from Unreal 1, the only true Flak gun :P Others were only pale copies although I liked the painting decoration on the shell in UT ;)

The auders could eat humans, and get really high gas from all that armor (the bacteria in their gut digests the metal and releases gas), so they spray it out their asses (also called farting), and that lets em fly.

If Marauders flew and dropped bombs, they would stop being Marauders.
Please make up a name for the new Alien class.

Can someone make a mod that makes the shotty a flack cannon?
Leave all the stats etc, just make it look and sound better.
Although ut2k4 flack alt-fire *would* be a nice replacement for the nade....

Who said flew?

Its hard to balance chain lighting but make it useful at the same time.  Bombs fit the high flying (as in jumping, not literally flying) alien class.  Jump in, bomb, jump out.  Instead of jump in, charge lighting, trying to move around while not breaking the lighting, and jump out.

how bout the mara have a alt+fire lightning zap. You would hold down mouse2 for about 7seconds i guess and shoot a jolt of lightning that would territorial dmg. you hit a corner/wall/ceiling and any human/alien(if there is ff) would get shocked when standing on the zapped area. the zap would leave a small ball of electricity stuck to a wall/ceiling/floor . if the zap so happens to hit a human, it would be a 1hit kill... (naked human). just a suggestion... sorta like a luci but faster since its lightning >.> and lots weaker and no splash just a ball off lightning that moves very fast.
