Crytek started out making a techdemo for Nvidia, featuring a dinosaur. That demo was so pretty, everybody decided there had to be a game built around it. That game is Far Cry.

Your argument about today's hardware is sketchy, because I have played Far Cry fine on a 1300mhz Athlon with a ti4200, hardly a fast computer. The reason nobody plays Far Cry is because people get bored. Just like me.

That dino demo is what I linked in my earlier post.

I'd be curious to see how others have faired with the hardware requirements even if graphics are turned down to low.  The Far Cry demo can still be downloaded and tried for free.  It is a paltry 503 MBs.

my friend, that paltry demo is my months Entire download limit gone (500 megs a month on a 256 connection sucks)

Sorry to hear that as then it's not really broadband then is it.  Hope things can change for you.  Our provider here has no limits.  A few months ago I did about 165 Gigabytes and that is still considered small by some standards around here.

    EVE Online
    Shadowrun
    Halo 2
    Lost Planet Extreme Conditions
    and Microsoft Flight Simulator

 ATM  :wink: but HL 2 Episode 2 i'm not sure..., ok that's all.
