Something is broken. Tremulous will not find the .bsp, even when it's manually extracted and put in ~/.tremulous/base/maps
Pk3 works. You have some texture scaling issues on your crates. Map is atcs-like, only smaller and boxier.
In case of your crates, you can easily build them out of patch meshes and make the texture 'fit' to the patch. This also allows for easy rotation of the crate(s) without screwing up the texture aligment.
ummm... why is the pk3 file like this...map-Escape-1.0.0.pk3is this for tremulous 1.0.0 or is this just a misstake in the name?
