I would be happy to find out new ways to build an alien base (on stage 1 and 2) on ATCS.

If any player think that his base is effective then he is welcommed on our server (the [HUN]) to build up his base (and test it).

We will save the best bases as layouts.

On the rare occasion your not gassing humies with your basi and claiming that goons need no skill, you build hives in humie bases for the lulz... that is not exactly s1-s2 bases for a proper CW base :P  ;)

The most critical thing is to move the overmind into the corner at s1 so it doesn't fall to a psaw rush. Bonus points if the humans don't notice it's down and suicide their psaw with nowhere to hide :P

My alien base is as follows, without screenshots;

S1

Overmind: Default location
Acid tubes: Walled around OM, blocking ramp to OM, in recession near hallway entrance
Eggs: Two near OM, one at top of opposite ramp
Barricades: None

S2

Overmind: Default location
Acid tubes: Walls/ceiling around OM, walls/ceiling around main/hall entrances
Eggs: Ceiling around OM, top of ramp on ceiling (hallway side)
Barricades: None
Trappers: Ceiling recession near OM, top of OM-side ramp (wall), hallway entrance near floor (wall)
Boosters: Underneath hallway-side egg

S3

Hovels: Middle of OM-side ramp to block tardsuits and other humans without jetpacks/lucis
Hives: None


That's how I set up an alien ATCS base, and with adequate living defenders, it's fairly hard to kill without a massive spamsuit rush.

I have to contradict Bunneh here and completely disagree with the hovel. hovel on the ramp is a recipe for losing the game, as it means that the majority of tyrant players cannot defend the OM. Certainly some can jump the gap from the other side, but this adds seconds which in this case can add up to a loss. I prefer having the hovel in front of the om, with room on every side so that a rant can still get around it, but it makes luci jumping up difficult, as their movement is blocked into the LOS of your trapper.

Also, the booster lives MUCH monger if placed on the hallway side ramp, rather than under the egg. Under the egg it is easy fodder for grenades; on the ramp it also is NOT reliant on the hall-side egg for creep. A third bonus is that under the egg, painsaws can stand on it to reach the egg without jumping (which saves their stamina).

When i get home in a couple of days I'll gladly come by and build you a base, I have a couple of different layouts I like to use depending on who i'm playing with.
