Have you ever played tremulous on a laptop with a touch-pad? Its not much good except for humiliating yourself. Just give me my mouse and keyboard and I'll be happy.
Come watch me play someday--you wouldnt believe it, but I DO use a trackpad, and a 1button one at that!  ARROW KEYS FTW!!!

Anyway, for a DS port, you would want/need to drop the server code out as I really doubt that a DS could handle it while also playing.  You would also need to milk the touch-screen for data, as you would need the speed to do a 180 in a split second, with the accuracy to hit dretches at long distance.

as with many of the ds games, anything on wifi and the such would have tobe limited in the player amount...probably 8 playrz, tops. im not going to get into how hard the system would have to run. in comparison, it would be like running trem on a pc from '95 (that hasent been upgraded EVER) without any lag or a low ping number.

though as i said previously it would be awesome to have ported, though quite unrealistic. maybe the next generations of portable devices....though it may work better on psp than ds.

yes, in fact all i have to play with is a laptop, the laptop runs trem fine, and since i don't have a desktop i have become quite adept at using a trackpad (im particularly great, but i can hold my own)
