Transparent glass.(SOLVED)
« on: February 06, 2008, 04:18:04 pm »
Hey, I'm looking for transparent glass for the cockpit of the ship. I know there are glass textures in niveaus for example, but I'm looking for clean transparent glass. Is that possible?

The glass shader from Sirius looks fairly clean, replace the base image with a plain white texture if you want it squeaky clean.

Yea, that was another question, might as well ask it here: How do I create my own textures? I mean, I know I can make them using windows pain for example, but where should I place them?
If I know that, I could make some textures smaller so that I could use them better :)

in yor base trem folder there might be a folder called textures. If not create it. Put your textures in a folder inside this.

Code: [Select]
Base
|
Textures
|
Your Texture Folder
|
Your textures

My Textures or Your Teture Folder

Call it what you will. It doesn't matter one bit as long as you know where you put the texture.

That's what the error said, I called it My textures, put the blank texture in it but it doesn't work :(
It says it skips it :(

The texture must be in targa or JPEG (i.e. *.tga or *.jpg) format. Avoid spaces in the folder names.

That worked. Thanks :D
I renamed 'My textures' to 'Mytextures'  and now it works. Thanks all. This can now be locked :D

Texture names and folders, where they are cannon contain spaces (my textures - bad, my_textures - good).

There you have shader for transparent (visually, light and portal transparent) texture.

textures/<path to your texture without extension (.jpg .tga etc.)
{
surfaceparm trans
{
textures/<path to your texture WITH extension>
blendFunc GL_ONE GL_ONE
}
}
