The Academy Awards are a load of bollocks. The industry stroking itself and awarding trophies to people that often deserve them the least.

It strikes me as a bit of a big fat circle-jerk (except not as much fun to watch).

I just check the winners on the net after :P

Btw: (SPOILERS)

here's the link to see the winners: http://oscar.com/oscarnight/winners/index

And my rant thoughts:

I'm surprised transformers didn't get the special effects... :(

Ratatouille won the best animated film, which is not bad, but Persepolis is something you don't see everyday..

I wish alexander petrov's  "My Love" had won the best animated short, it's pretty sweet, (go watch it!)

That's it :D

Films are shit nowadays

SpiderMan 3 - OK, so I knew this wasnt gonna be great. But FFS, those bollock eaters who made the story line and story behind each villain were *really* graspinbg at straws, watch it and you'll see. AND THERE ARE 3 MORE!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!

POTC 3 - The storyline was so confusing, suddenly about 5 new "quests" and storylines popped in in this, the last movie. WAAAAAAAAAAY too long.

Others I havent watched, but am equelly disheartened by are:

Ratatoille - Never seen, dunno, but hate the look of EVERY character

Penelope - The Fuck? Pig princess, someone ugly goes looking for true love. How original.

Enchanted (or whatever Disney shits out these days) - Fuck you Disney. Ive seen lots of shit in my time, but by god, you rent what you used to be.

I dunno, but is it just me or is it that blockbuster movies these days have lost that extra bit of icing which I like to refer to as a storyline. And theyre never served with a cherry representing originality. Aklways the same storyline, change a few people, slap on a new name, bingo, your film ready for busting blocks.
Disney is the worst, go on, look through all their old movies, and look through all the new ones, see any similiarities, mmm?

OMG, slightly derailed, but just a good a place.
And by the way, no, I didnt watch the Academy Awards, its just a bunch of people stroking themselves and each other, and giving useless people who, at one pint in their lives, made a mildly successful film, but are now just a commercial face of the industry.

If I want to know whos best, I dont look there.

The musical intervals were a shit storm of shittyness, but otherwise, I need to watch Juno and No Country For Old Men now.
