Over the past month or 2 I have noticed a decline in cool people activeness, and an influx of noobs and pollacks. And frankly, I'm really tired of it. Every time I look for people recently I am lucky to find maybe 1 or 2 skilled clan members.. ie AA, NT, ZR, OPP, Zubs. The only servers I get a chance to play on now are D*S, EBSF and |KOR|, all of which are filled with a bunch of morons.

NT has been fairly active I'd say. Usually at least one time in the day when we have like 6 members on.

AA sometimes has like 5 on, but usually I only see 2 or 3.

Zubs is pretty inactive, barely ever see even one on.

WaR, twofacedrat, and Mars are on often for OPP, and some other people like Magic.

Z|R isn't really active, but sometimes they've got people on.

We've had a couple games, Z|R and OPP, plus others, but we really could use more skilled clans. The amount of players who'd fit the memberlist of that is rather lacking at the moment. Could maybe form 1 "skilled" clan out of all of it.

Way to many euro players out there. If you look at the server. More than half are euro. We need more North American players. Or for an new clan of all the active good clans to just make one mega clan. So we can get a decent scrim. Insted of getting smigits of euro scrims that play lagged.

I uninstalled Tremulous a while back so I really don't know the situation right now. But what you mentioned is one of the reasons I quit, Tremulous just got boring to me. The only other guy I know that uninstalled was AppleJuice, or atleast he told me he was going to.

In general I'd say that interest in Tremulous amongst its skilled core has gone down considerably. I can list on two hands the polite, skilled players I know that played regularly a year ago and still play regularly today (I don't count myself in that count, you can try to guess why ).

This can be expected from a game which has basically totally relied on its own community to generate steam over the past year. Actually, I'm quite impressed with how well this community has maintained, promoted, and improved the game considering its shortage of leadership and surplus of immaturity. Props to you guys that are out there creating content, hosting servers, and being civil.

Tremulous is still a fun game for me and it will be as long as there are servers up with reasonable settings where known players can congregate for good games. I also really enjoy helping out the occasional good-natured noob I run into - that these guys still exist is a good sign for the game.

To sum up: people have been saying that the Tremulous playerbase is dying for over a year now. The influx of new players is lower and, sure, some of our old friends stopped playing, but get over it - you'll know this game is dead when you post an OP like this and nobody responds.

Relax, this are our future generation of tremulous players. I found out that many of them are 13 and below. The 14s, 15s, and 16s and counting are starting to pick up the skills. The young ones do not read the forums adn do not think first before they act. They also are not bothered to learn! I told a young one many times to look up for a headshot with a dretch to get more damage, but he persistently does a dretch jump bite(only 48 damage) jeez...
And in ESD he rushes straight to the enemy base with a tyrant, straight into the rets adn the luci spams-what sort of planning is that?

Anyway, the decline of good players is sort of sad, but I think it kinda goes in phases.  A few of the old ones will eventually be back, but some newer ones will also show up eventually.  It's down times like this that make Tremulous playable for me.  Halo died for me when everyone became a god at the game, and I hadn't played in a while, couldn't even practice to get back into the game.... I'd spawn and BAM dead.

Basically, this is my shot at improving before being swarmed by the Tremulous elite again.

Body plays a couple hours every couple of days, because he's a busy dude. Also, he just got a Linux laptop I believe and he's got shit to take care of as well as settling that out.

What the hell do we need skilled players for? The only thing we need is polite, cool people. And AFAIK, there are plenty of those. 

I never counted myself as good, maybe that makes it easier for me to havea fun time on a server?

Seriously, just look around. Atleast 70% of the people are at least decent people. and a bit less of them are really cool, but they are around, there is hope.

You are right, there are many euro 13 year olds who seem "cool." Way too many. So many this game is losing its competitiveness.
But I play the game to play, not to socialize with "cool noobs."
If I wanted to socialize with noobs who seem "nice enough" I would go to SST.
