Why do you need a special map to train in? After all, the "real" maps are where you'll be using your skills, so why not learn them there?

Have you tried doing practice in public games or by yourself?

Im just asking for some map makers who have some free time to make some training maps.

And i didnt ask for a map maker to come here and bitch about why a training map should not be made, if your not going to help in the process of making this from idea into a map then dont post in this topic.

If you are thank you for the time, good day.

How do you think all of the current players learned to play?

Ahh, so when you post in a thread about someone's HUD that it's complete crap and they should delete it and forget it ever existed, that's constructive.  When someone comes into your thread and says your idea is flawed since people won't play the training maps in real matches (therefore it's better to train on the maps in which you'd actually play), they're bitching.

"Training" by yourself is a waste of time. If you need target practice play Quake or something.

Practice maps would be a good idea if they were where you were actually going to use your skills.
I'm a developer! If you'd like to contribute to the Equilibrium QVM project or download the latest version, please visit this thread.

QVMs now compile under Leopard; get the patch here. Requires SVN r1053 or later.

Practice maps would be a good idea if you acctually played them with other people.

That too. But that pretty much nullifies the whole idea, doesn't it?

I don't see how practice maps would help you. If you need practice with your aim, go and download OpenArena and play that.
I started out with games like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament, so all I really needed to learn when coming into Trem was the game mechanics and how to play as aliens. Single player alien practice would never work simply because you need other people shooting at you to really know what to do.

Now, I don't think that practice maps are a bad idea, I just think that single player practice maps are useless.
And anyway, for the ultimate training exercise, you really need to go play a game with others.

There ARE practice Trem maps already
here's example: http://octothorn.com/base/mapstraining.html
Now traning on practice maps is interesting for no longer than 10-40min,
than it's starting to get so boring that you could kill yourself only to stop this hell ;)
So, there are even more maps then that (made by some french guy, but i cant recall where was it), just serch.
