Streaming Music over Dedicated server?

Is it possible to Stream Music over a server?

Because I'm just one of those people that think
Good Music + Good Gameplay = Pwnage and I was wondering if its possible, so that we may possibly, for example, have Sephiroth's Theme from FF7 Advent Children playing over the server.

Run a music player in the background, stream from some webradio if you want to

But streaming music to everyone without permission is illegal

Err wtf dude?
And no, it can't be done.
In 1.2 there (may) be voice chat, in which case it may be possible, although it will piss people off a lot and probably get you banned from whatever server you try it on.

I thought they meant voice says(F3 = Starts sending the voice message COME BACK HERE to everyone) like in other FPS.

Two different things.  There are vsays, where I press F1 and it does a nice radio message to say the base is getting eaten, and there's the thing where I hold a button and squeal profanity into the microphone.  The latter is being worked on by the IOQ3 people right now, I have no idea if it will ever be added into tremulous.

At least in the US, the mafiAA have a stranglehold on streaming music stations, considering them radio stations and requiring royalties payments to the industry giants (ASCAP, BMI, etc).  In the early days of streaming, nobody cared.. you could have a station which had your favorite music and stream it to all your friends.  Now they want you to pay to be able to do that since they consider it (which it kinda is) just another form of broadcasting.

So for probably 90% of the music out there, streaming it is illegal.

Well I just wanted to do this on a LAN server, since thats pretty much the only ones I host.

You could implement this as a mod if you have the ability to, but I would recommend just running a streaming media server on your LAN instead...or if everyone's in the same room, blast a stereo.

I recommend mpd + icecast for streaming setup. I have been very satisfied in it.
