in my opinion, in an armour what can protect from a cow sized creature's maximised musclework pounce, every normal jump is superjump :-)
the 'medic' cross is supposed to be the indicator of the medkit. it would be interesting if aliens and teammates could know if someone's medkit is active/used/unused.

my brother just remixed my concept.
he doesn't know tremulous much, so the text does not say that its tremmy, and he even wrote the "medical" phrase there wich is nonsense, but anyways it become NEATo!
especially the kneepads!

Well, get him into tremulous, no excuses!

I would love to see his work as well, Tremulous can always use another artist. :D

one of the reasons of his drawing skills is that he doesn't waste his time by playing tremulous ;-)

I'm sorry, I must have mis-heard. I almost thought you said that tremulous was a waste of time but I know you wouldn't say anything that blasphemous.

Ooh wow. I like these new drawings, but I especially like the speed at which they are being shown. Keep that up please.  :D

No wonder he's angry, you covered his face in paint!

Although, yet again! this is some very very talented art, I'm really liking it.

I must ask though, as my curiosity has been aroused (and that may not be the only thing) what program(s) were used in creating these fine fellows?

the head is surely Zbrushed, tho i think the armor is made in 3DsMax. not sure.
possibly he dragged it back to Zbrush for the skinning.
i also want to learn it so i'll ask :-)

@nub: no, he's making concepts and models for animation films. i'll look up the thing you came up with tho.

@win: this way of concept we came up with is rather different than the official way, if i may say 'official' to a community projectTM. i'm just as curious of possible evolution of the human model+armors as any other regular player and crawling for a new opening scene/any design update. however, my bro will not continue this figure unfortunately

@moo's: confirmed that the armor, such as the previous weapon is 3Dmaxed(modeled and skinned). its skin also contains alpha channels to bump the text/erosion differently.

well, this could almost go to the models section too.
bro's work also. note that he never played trem so he only has some distant memories of how a tyrant looks like :-)

The last one almost looks like jabba + rant, but it is very very cool. You must get your brother to play some Tremulous. :D

I'm going to have to second the request for a better engine. Ioquake3's technical limitations are what made me drift away from my modeling. On the other hand, the devs are strongly against any new engine.

The Unreal 3 engine is available for free, so it might be neat to but together a team to make a Tremulous 2. EDIT: and most of this work seems like it's done in a different style than Trem anyways.

Everyone keeps wanting a new engine, yet the devs are the ones who will have to do the coding for it. Let's face it, if they decide to code everything again for a whole different engine, we won't see completion for at least 2 years.

note that this zbrush model is more of a sculpture than an actual game model capable of animation and smooth ingame performance.
creating and animating theese stuffs is just as much effort than programming it.

but lets be smart and lets see first how NS2 comes out of such a situation.
