Humans panicking when fighting Lisks

ok im writing this because lately i have been lisking abd noticing alot of the less experienced players are paniking when fighting lisks.

Basically what is happening when players who are not used to fighting lisks come across one and the lisk grabs them front on they panick and start shooting wildly allowing the lisk to get behind them and kill them. firstly i would recommend going and playing a lisk so you what it takes to be one and therefore gives you a better understanding of what they can and cant do, aswell as how to beat them. Secondly the only thing you need to really do is keep your gun between you and the lisk, even if you are s1 and you keep doing this and combine it with dodge you will stand alot more of a chance against a lisk, so stay calm and keep your aimer on them, if they grab you (most lisks will let go to grab you from behind) try to keep your aimer on them.

Of course they panic. A bloody great creepy monster thing is gnawing on their ass. What do you expect?

There are many lisk who like to grab you by outrunning and dodging you head on and then grabbing from the front and swinging around behind. My tactic to counter this is, if you know they're going to try that, as a last resort for yourself wait for them to do it and half a second before they get the grab, turn your back to them. They swing around to your front instead, not realizing what you did.

A few lisks are extremely quick to react to this and will either quickly correct the mistake or just not even fall for it.

Also, don't neglect moving backwards. Take earlier turns into a backing away method of evasion than you normally would against any other alien.

while that would work, that takes alot of confidence and practice, but for the people who panick when attacked by lisks its not a very practical solution. i would reccomend players try it however and see if it works for them.

on that note try different things, if u see a player doing it a certain way try that and if it works for you do it.

but if u crazily jump and spin (well try to) it has been known to get u out of a lisk grip

It does last forever, so long as you do not move your aim off of their hitbox. There are other ways to cancel it, like typing, but that's just stupid. Still, yes, as soon as you move your aim off of their hitbox, they are set to get out of the grab, even if only momentarily before another grab.

its noobs like you that makes lisking easy, the grab does last, if a lisk grabs u from behind he cn hapily sit behind you the whole game, if they are letting you go as u try to spin its because they panick and worry about being shot. the only way to effectively always get out of a lisk grip is by having a jet pack so you can spin around when u activate it and turn around to shoot.

I've noticed that a human grabbed by a lisk still has a very limited amount of movement. Sometimes, depending on the angle of the grab, it's enough to get a shot in and hit the lisk. If you have the shotgun on you, all the better. I've escaped lisks at least a couple of times like this, once by actually killing it and once he probably let me go when he got shot. If you're grabbed on full health and also activate the medikit you get a good few seconds in which you can try to shoot at the lisk. Of course, usually one of his buddies will finish you off before that...

Since it was hanging from my ass at the time, I'm usually not sympathetic.

And to be fair, it also happens with humans too: a buddy sees you grabbed by the lisk and tries to shoot it, but if he has a spread weapon on him (shotgun, luci, chaingun) you're just as toast as the lisk, since by that time you're hanging to a few HP left. It's an exercise in futility since you get +1 kill as well as a -1.

The difference is that the human being grabbed, being the victim, usually welcomes death even at the hands of a fellow human. I imagine it's much more frustrating for the lisk, who was enjoying a kill and suddenly is killed itself for no good reason.

Often I see all sorts of base structures get shot to pieces while attempting to kill the lisk by other teammates or yourself. 

I don't think turrets/ teslas shoot the lisk while attached.

The other day I got the bright idea of moving towards another alien/ alien structure & shooting it up, if available.  Maybe the lisk kills you, but you get the chance to do some damage on something else.  Not the best situation, but better than dieing and accomplishing nothing.  If the lisk is on your back, maybe another teammate kills it.

Not sure about teslas. I think turrets still shoot when attacked by a lisk, they just can't turn.

If you're playing on a server where you can get close to a live tesla with lisk, there are definitely fucked up settings in play. Nope, lisks don't do a thing to tesla. As for grabbing turrets, it slows their turning speed considerably, which is a huge way for lisk to cause some damage.
