um actually I they are not, at least in english ( we don't very well have any word for grafix card in creole). A hard drive is a device that stores memory and some other components, you can run a game off your hard drive, but you will need a grafix card for it to run well (and since I can put in a grafix card with out taking out my hardrive, that obviously shows they aren't synonomous).
