Alright guys, time for some e-peen bolstering:
System specs:
evga 790i ultra SLI
Intel Core i7 Extreme Desktop @ 3.8GHz
12gb ddr3 1600 (at 8-8-8-24)
2x Caviar Black 1TB
Turbo-Cool 1200w
2x GTX 295 (Quad SLI)
total cost: ~$4500
Good job, you can successfully make your fps so high that you can't play.
Just...just why.
I cap mine at 76.
I hope you realize that 3833 compared to 200 is the exact same to the human eye.
Wasting 4500 dollars to play a quake3 game... PRICELESS!

I just made this thread because people wouldn't believe me about the quad-sli 295's, and told me to post a screenshot of max fps.
its because no one would believe that you were stupid enough to soup up your pc just to have high fps in a q3 game.
I get >500 fps on the same spot with a €20 GeForce 6600.

My system specs are kind of like a third of yours so it's fitting that I get about one-third the FPS.
Evga 750i FTW
Intel C2D E8400 @ 3.6GHz
4GB DDR2 1066 @ 4-5-5-15
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB
Hiper Type-M 880w
Evga GTX 260 (just 1 ;) )
Total cost: ~$1500 (originally; worth much less now)
(Having spent that much money on a computer I jump at the chance to "show off" my specs, so don't hate me for it.)
I have much better things to do with $4,5k than spending it for my computer...
300$PCs ftw
QuoteI get >500 fps on the same spot with a €20 GeForce 6600.
I get >200fps on the same spot with a €25 Radeon X1650 haxer :( but this card sucks anyway
ATCS ISN'T WELL OPTIMIZED
If I had a $USD4500 computer, I would be playing Oblivion on full graphics ever waking moment of the day.
Doing mad assassin shit and stealing from people.
And not doing the main storyline, because it's boring.
you guys do realize that trem isn't 0ms safe (bad things happen when a frame is shorter than 1msec).

How fast is that? I keep my fps capped at 125 for normal play.
@ the haters, he was telling us about his computer he built, we asked him how many FPS he could get on trem, and to post it
he said he normally caps it at 90fps

To be honest, I get only ~300 fps when I turn off all my renderer modifications, so the GeForce card isn't that much faster.

1000ms/1ms(frametime)=1000 -> 1000fps -> anything higher than 1000fps.
Well, I get around 200fps in Trem, 500fps in Quake 3 and around 120fps in Urban Terror.
i get close on 1000 fps in most places on ATCS at 1600x1200, full AA/AF forced via env variables, shinytrem, bloom enabled. XFX 9800GTX+ here. it's the only part of my computer i paid for :) rest of it I all got free from people who didn't want it, or dumpster diving.

What happens when a frame is shorter than 1 msec?
(I suppose less than ONE MILLISECOND in google could tell me this)

except that isn't trem (by that logic, i could blend textures and lightmaps in software, dump the whole thing into a vbo, and while(1){ glDrawArrays(); } and probably get 4 digits)
How'd you get the counter above 1000? It always caps at 1000 here.

You're right, I just tried it again and it wouldn't break 1000. What gives?

lol
Jesus Christ...
Mine top at 110. On a good day. Lowest I have ever had was like -5 or something.
-5 fps? Now I know the reason of Déjà vu's
i've gotten nexuiz's fps meter to show me both 2147483647 and -2147483648 by using a sufficiently slow computer.
