Title: GTK Radiant Is Failing on me....[Solved]
Post by: A Spork on September 03, 2009, 04:58:48 pm
Anyways, this just started the other day, in the middle of me mapping, so I dunno whats up.
Basically Whenever I click on a texture to begin texturing anything, gradiant goes extra wide, and starts pulling up the bottom slowly. When It does this, I cant do anything in the window. When its done, the window is too narrow to do anything in, and I cant extend it...

About 30 seconds later:

Help?

you have to arouse it with some l33t mapping skills to get it to grow back

If you are using GtkRadiant 1.5, try NetRadiant (http://ingar.satgnu.net/gtkradiant/files/netradiant-395-win32.zip).

Using vanilla 1.5 is like running the tremulous-1.1.0 release binary.

Caulk button?  :o

Hint: textures -> common -> caulk

try setting it so all new brushes are caulk?

yeah, I did that.

One thing: My map Instinct, I put an Iris door in a while ago, and when I opened it in NetRadiant, it was all spaced funny and moved over. Also, It keeps saying my map is leaking, but where the red line showing the path of the leak goes, it goes through 3 different walls that I made double sure are structural. Whats up with that?

The thing with entities having moved happened to me too, I guess Net Radiant handles origin keys differently (entities appeared twice as far from map origin). Anyway you should be using origin brushes if you weren't already.
About the leak: make sure there is no surfaceparm detail in any of the shaders on those brushes. Or you can post .map and let people take a look.
And there is a caulk button.

yeah, its a pain....
They are all just normal textures, not shaders...
And there is a caulk button.
