At first it's my first post on this forum

I have made some alien model today
and can you tell me what do you think about them.

the shrimp

the ram have the better defense of all the alien but it's slow

the centaur is fast and have a good jump

You should increase the poly count a lot to make the models more detailed. The shrimp's and queen's legs are too small and too close to each other. And the legs should be on the side, not below the body, to fit in with the other alien classes.
Also adding new alien classes would affect gameplay a lot, and thus might only happen in a mod.

I don't think I can make the animations

It needs to be a lot higher poly, you have a decent framework, but to get at a quality you want, it's going to be more work. Keep it up though.

Go into your base folder:

1: Copy the data-1.1.0.pk3 thing.

2: Paste it somewhere safe outside of base.

3: Rename it as zip

4: Unpack it with Winrar or something.

Models are in... the models folder :P

As for your models themselves, they need a lot more detail and smoothing. Blocky lego aliens won't cut it. But keep working at it.

I would honestly get real and practice more.
It will take year or so to get anything that will work in a game.
This stuff isn't easy to do on any means,
animation should only be done on serious works.

I'd say keep up the work, but keep working on improving. Right now your models are too blocky and sharp. You can (and should) use multiple polys for the points of their legs, it would make it look a lot nicer. Your models also seem to be lacking a bit in the way of depth, although that could mostly just be the pictures. Lastly, your simple textures, make it seem a bit too cartoonish, although I suspect they will look nicer once on a more fleshed out creature.

Try looking at other models, for example the dragoon to get an idea of how the Tremulous Dev's did their work.

It's true that they don't look so related, but that is fine, no need if it would go into a mod.

I am glad to see you are improving, howerver there are some places which are a bit flat or unrealistic on the bodies, but besides that I want to congratulate you, as your latest pictures compared to your first are quite and impressive change.

All the things I want to add in my mod

aliens:
The shrimps: you don't control only 1 shrimp but 10, like a rts. Move like a granger.

The wolfer: it can catch the humans for kill them but can't propel them, its arms are so short. Move like a dretch and a marauder.

The ram: as its name say, it is realy usefull for attack a base. It can power its more than any alien and can destroy lot's of builds but it need time before and after the attack and it can do this only on the ground. Not like a dragoon but move like a tyran.

The Mabouner: new alien not created. I don't think it's possible to make an alien who can jump on a human for bashing him.
Like a baboun, a realy savage alien.

The grem: new alien not created. It can steal human equipement in the armoury. Move like an human.

The queen: the greatest alien ! There is only 1 queen on a map that why I think it's can use the wallwalking. It can make respam the other alien like an egg. Move like a tyran.

Human weapons:

power drill: like it says before

chopper gun: like it says before

kangoo boots: for move like a marauder

DNA alien: the alien build don't hurt you anymore

hook: do you know Tarzan ?

flypack: a jetpack but with more manability, faster but during less time. You move like a plane.

The King: the same thing to the Queen but for the humans. He can use 2 weapon in the same time.

cobweb: I don't know if it's the good word but can be use like a bridge.

worm in earth: it work like a bear trap.

Human builds:

electro door: a door who let pass the humans and not they aliens.

I really do like that chopper gun, and I would love to see it textured. I would also encourage you to try to take it to the next level and add a bit of detailing to it.

HOLY BADASS!!! that king is going to pwn if it was in the game. Two flamethrowers! the suddenly 2 humans pop on its shoulders and starts to rifle flame. I think the Kings worst enemy could actually be a lisk - it could get on its back and start hitting it. According to its size, it couldn't even go thru any ATCS tunnel, and then the 2 nodes on it shoulders would just make non-sense. Ofcourse if you think about making it having a crouch ability :P

The first step is to modeling, texturing and modeling
the second is to fing the property of each aliens, humans and builds.

Add the alien or weapon one by one is the worst solution
because, I create an alien, this alien is adapted to the original aliens and weapons
now I create a new weapon, it have to be adapted to the original aliens and to the new alien I have just add.
Now I create a new build who it have to be adapted to the original and to the new alien and weapon I have created.
As result it become a Puzzle!

All of this for say the king is going to be necessary against the ram, the mabooner and the queen !
And the size is not a problem, it just have to be change.

Change green to something that is...well I can't really say it,but change it to some other color besides green, I mean,mostly all other aliens are like,dark color mode,and some lightish color like the dretch  :dretch:. Green doesn't feel comfortable to me  :-[

This is relevant to my interests. I've been toying with the Ram and Queen models. Made a full list of animation for the Ram. They are pretty amateur seeing as they mark the very beginning of my animation experience, but I believe they are suitable for an opensource game. I'll make a video out of them later.

IMO looks very low detail. But I think that may be because of the textures used.

The concept for the queen is really interesting, specifically how it can respawn other aliens. Very cool concept, stratedgy-wise.

The only problem is Tremulous is all about balance. Honestly, I think it's one of the most well balanced multiplayer games I've ever played. And so if you want to add an alien, you're also going to have to design a human weapon counterpoint. Just keep that in mind.

I've been thinking about this for a long time, but how about a small, fast, red and weak in def and atk alien that by pressing the taunt button makes it go -BOOM- like a grenade  :dretch:?

EDIT: Ive seen a preview of the queen and ram, but why is the strongest beast smaller than a regular one? it should be about a little smaller than a rant :tyrant:. and the queen should be able to MAKE the spawns  :egg: and not just spawn from them.

Scupltris is nice because it's so easy to learn compared to Zbrush.
Zbrsh is something I tried but ran away from because it's really complex,
plus my trial was running out :)

Necro in this case means to bring back [the thread] from the dead. It was a dead thread and you revived it. It's a bad thing. Although, in this case, I don't really mind it. If it's a thread about models from 3 months ago, bringing it back asking about progress or informing on something seems fine to me, and certainly not caps lock worthy.
