Try updating your video drivers.
-
Try http://glameow.dyndns.org:1000/repo/SimpleTremSetup.exe (http://glameow.dyndns.org:1000/repo/SimpleTremSetup.exe)
-
Try searching.

I went to dowload this link :

Try http://glameow.dyndns.org:1000/repo/SimpleTremSetup.exe
However, tremulous managed to start but it is extremely laggy and i could not click the play button due to the lag. Overall, i still cant play tremulous
can someone help me pls?
-
use tremfusion
http://www.tremfusion.net (:
-
I know i know!
Stating the obvious, your computer may not have openGL.
I had to manually install the drivers on my previous computer, trem never worked until i did so. It had the same error.
Btw, as purg said, most players these days use tremfusion or TJW's client to play trem 1.1. If you go on tremfusion.net, you better watch out for the tilt.

Intel(R)82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
-
Intel(R)82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
ah, the good old intel 845 chipset, i had one of these for a while, installing ubuntu on it was a nightmare because of the idiot way they rigged the board up.
the 845 is a very old integrated graphics chipset these days, and its support always sucked.
if memory serves, the 845 was primarily an OEM board. what you should prolly do is go to your OEM's website (dell.com, hp.com, etc) download the graphics drivers for your model computer, uninstall the old ones, restart, and install the ones you just downloaded.
another possibility is your RAM. as an integrated chip, the 845 snags some of your system RAM. if you never got more RAM for that computer, and you just have what the OEM ships (considering the timeframe, you'd be lucky to have 1GB) this could be compounding the issue.
..... wait a sec. you are running win7 on a 845?
no wonder you are having problems, nothing about that board supports win7. you are likely under or right at minimum specs for the operating system. no wonder you are having issues.
consider going back to XP or running some lightweight distro of linux, lubuntu for example.

Oh, windows 7 load files fast and it is very good. I really dont wan t to change my operating system. is there a program that enables trem to run using DIRECTX? it will work well on my computer because windows 7 uses DIRECTX 11
-
You can install XP drivers in windows 7 as there are no windows 7 drivers for that controller, the only downside is that you wont be able to use effects like windows aero.
here is the download link to the xp driver from intel.

you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

it is your prerogative, but i have owned that board. it dates to a time when q3 was a current generation game. without a video card (running on the integrated chip as you are) even in xp, you will have poor fps in trem. the 845 was "entry level".
if you are wanting to run trem and refuse to downgrade software, you are going to have to spend money on some hardware. namely having 2GB RAM, and getting a geforce 6200 PCI, the best card that board can possibly handle.
even with those upgrades, some maps in trem will drop you to 10 fps or less.
-
When i am using XP i played trem with 1.2 GB RAM and the fps is 90 FPS. it is becuse the driver is unsupported for windows 7 so i could not play trem however, if i switch to windows xp i can play trem however windows 7 had features that is essential for me in my daily life which xp dosent have. Glameow i will try out the link you gave me thks. For the rest, listen try to find solutions to help. let me tell you my computer is 12 yrs old so it will die out soon hence, i am not willing to change the hardware, it will buy a new computer when this computer dies. Let me tell you my computer specifications. it is a pentium 4M Processor with 2.00 GHZ and 1.24 GB Ram. However, i will be happy if you can make the trem run on my windows 7 at 10 FPS and it is enough for me. Let me tell you the current FPS i ran on windows 7 is 0 FPS mostly and up to 4 FPS. If you can make trem run on directx it will be all right. :D
-
Glameow the link you provided me is the current driver i am using however i reinstall but there seems to be some improvement about the lag however it is stll very lag.

you cannnot. win7 is taking up too much resources, plus your gear is unsupported. features or no, i am amazed you have the patience to deal with the load times you must face. does it take a solid 2 mins to open an internet browser? can you even run adobe flash stuff?
if you are unwilling to switch OS to something you can actually realistically run, or upgrade hardware, again to actually meet specs on your OS, i can do nothing for you. this is what the problem is, and you will not get decent fps till you address it.

Try this as a last ditch effort: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu)
Have you considered dual-booting windows xp and windows 7?
-
Glameow i will give it a shot.
-
The support ended for Intel(R)82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
-
Unless you run windows xp, I see no solution to your problem.
look up "dual booting windows xp and windows 7" in google.
I hope you can get tremulous working, good luck.
-
I tried to boot xp in virtual machine and it worked but i cant install the driver in virtual machine. Overall, it failed and i still cant run tremulous
-
well if it makes you feel better you aren't exactly missing out on anything

Your google power is feeble.

can anyone develop tremulous to run without opengl.

I tried the compatibility but FAILED!!! I still cant run tremulous
-

waste of resources. q3 has always been opengl dependent. i think it was actually one of the first games to be so.
I tried the compatibility but FAILED!!! I still cant run tremulous
a suggestion to both of you. download and burn an ubuntu live disk and install to any old flash drive you have laying around, or a small partition. once you get that up and running, install trem.
or get new hardware.
or downgrade to an os your machine actually meets minimum specs for.
-
can anyone develop tremulous to run without opengl.
what would it run on then? Flashplayer?

direct x. you know, the other renderer that everyone uses (i suspect with a monetary incentive from MS)
-
You cant install files on live cd
-
You cant install files on live cd
no, you install FROM a live cd, onto a flash drive, or a partition on your hard drive you have prepared.
the flash drive way is the way with the least fuss, though. depending on your OS, it can be a great big pain to get a second partition set up.
-
so i install in my 4gb thumbdrive can???
-
so i install in my 4gb thumbdrive can???
sure, that should be enough to hold it.
-
thks,i will tyr it out.
-
can use any version of ubuntu or do we need the newest version. Do we plug in the thumbdrive after the live cd loads. what are the chances of sucess? can any computer run ubuntu? even the lousiest com???
-
DOES THE THUMBDRIVE NEED TO BE BLANK???
-
most any computer can run ubuntu, if your computer cannot, try xubuntu or lubuntu. i got those running on a pentium 3. i doubt you are using something as bad as a p3.
do not have info you need on the usb drive as installing to it will likely require a format (well, not require, but it is the easiest way)
you should probably go with the latest version.
there are a million step by step tutorials, many in video form or with pictures. google is your friend.

A thumbdrive read and writing speed is slower than a hard disk does it lag?
-
A thumbdrive read and writing speed is slower than a hard disk does it lag?
you answered yourself.
only on read/writes, though. working on things loaded into memory is as fast as ever.
-
ok thks i will give it a shot.
by the way it need minimum of 4.5 GB.
-
[color=limegreen
by the way it need minimum of 4.5 GB.[/color]
That depends on how much space tremulous takes up.
In my case, its 7.84 GB without videos. But i'm overloading paks (i need to delete some, which i have and is still not enough)so this is my problem. Generally I only bring default and good maps on the usb, with autogen.cfg [and binds.cfg if i do have one], hud files [if i have some], the executables and such. I don't bring things like screenshots of course, what use do they have?
-
The disc loads halfway and hanged!!!the ubuntu disc hanged i cant get to the desktop.
-
Thanks for all your help!!! i did dual booting and it works. i have windows xp and windows 7 on the same hard disk now i can play trem and do my stuff.
-
merry christmas :D

This actually brings a tear of joy in my eye
