can anyone develop tremulous to run without opengl.
waste of resources.  q3 has always been opengl dependent.  i think it was actually one of the first games to be so.

I tried the compatibility but FAILED!!! I still cant run tremulous
a suggestion to both of you.  download and burn an ubuntu live disk and install to any old flash drive you have laying around, or a small partition.  once you get that up and running, install trem.

or get new hardware.

or downgrade to an os your machine actually meets minimum specs for.

direct x.  you know, the other renderer that everyone uses (i suspect with a monetary incentive from MS)

no, you install FROM a live cd, onto a flash drive, or a partition on your hard drive you have prepared.

the flash drive way is the way with the least fuss, though.  depending on your OS, it can be a great big pain to get a second partition set up.

can use any version of ubuntu or do we need the newest version. Do we plug in the thumbdrive after the live cd loads. what are the chances of sucess? can any computer run ubuntu? even the lousiest com???

Yann Yiing

DOES THE THUMBDRIVE NEED TO BE BLANK???

RAKninja-Decepticon

most any computer can run ubuntu, if your computer cannot, try xubuntu or lubuntu.  i got those running on a pentium 3.  i doubt you are using something as bad as a p3.

do not have info you need on the usb drive as installing to it will likely require a format (well, not require, but it is the easiest way)

you should probably go with the latest version.

there are a million step by step tutorials, many in video form or with pictures.  google is your friend.

you answered yourself.

only on read/writes, though.  working on things loaded into memory is as fast as ever.

That depends on how much space tremulous takes up.
In my case, its 7.84 GB without videos. But i'm overloading paks (i need to delete some, which i have and is still not enough)so this is my problem. Generally I only bring default and good maps on the usb, with autogen.cfg [and binds.cfg if i do have one], hud files [if i have some], the executables and such. I don't bring things like screenshots of course, what use do they have?

Yann Yiing

The disc loads halfway and hanged!!!the ubuntu disc hanged i cant get to the desktop.

Yann Yiing

Thanks for all your help!!! i did dual booting and it works. i have windows xp and windows 7 on the same hard disk now i can play trem and do my stuff.
