You are in Argentina? I did a quick search and found a couple indications that Argentina does not have fair use/fair dealing, so I suggest you don't copy or directly translate anything that does not have a license that clearly permits it. But information and ideas are not copyrightable, only the expression of them, so you can still paraphrase without a problem as long as the actual text/whatever of your version is sufficiently different.

Works Not Covered By Copyright (http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/works-not-covered-copyright) and Idea-expression divide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idea%E2%80%93expression_divide) assume U.S., but generally apply elsewhere (with exceptions, so look up your own copyright laws), especially if the copyright is a U.S. copyright and only applies elsewhere due to treaties.

If you want to know about specific content you are interested in copying, you have to be specific about it. Otherwise, I can only give you that general suggestion.

I believe the word you're looking for is 'patent'.

no, i meant trademark (http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/index.jsp).  not trade secrets (http://www.wipo.int/sme/en/ip_business/trade_secrets/trade_secrets.htm) in this particular situation, but naming information a "trade secret" is one way to de-facto copyright an idea. (http://www.wipo.int/sme/en/ip_business/trade_secrets/patent_trade.htm)
