snaps cheats server to think you have a steady 40 fps
maxpackets = maxpackets :)
blabldup = u sent packets in bulk after the lag

i played one a little while ago that had LOTS of ppl in it i can't remember about 20 -30 ppl and the ping was fine only one person got lag and his model froze in position while his legs where still running so we sortoff called the game off (the fighting i mean) and try and kill him even the aliens help out he was invincible that was probably the first and only time EVER that aliens and humans got along of corse to kill this error we ended pushing his top torse through the wall and his legs stayed in place...

Make sure your connection speed is set correctly in the Options > System > Net & Sound menu.

Make sure your software firewall (if you have one) is setup correctly. They have a tendency of increasing your ping.
Another issue is your physical distance from the servers you play on.
Where are you from and what servers do you play on?

There are numerous things that can increace your latency but the most important is distance. Also, the quality of your modem and router can play a role.
Yelling at team mates since 2006!

my firewall is disabled while playing, the physical distance from the servers has no mather to the rising of my ping, only my ping gets higher on servers far away(iam from europe). the ping rising happens when 2 or more players are in my fov,  on servers with a high ping(~130-170) it happens when i trie to move. when im playing on german servers my ping is 20- 35, as long as im alone on the map. my modem is a speed touch 546.

- What modem / router, exact brand & number
- what OS?
- what processes are running?
- who shares your line?
- what comp-specs?
- what provider?

And please use common sense when asking, we can not look into our crystal ball when you have an itchy line...

*router/modem(dont know exact what this thing is) is a Thomson SpeedTouch 546
*im running "Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2"
*no unnecessary processes are running(i think), i tried to nuke every nukeable prozess hours and hours, nothing changes except the breakdown of my pc. . .=)
*nobody shares my line
*my computer is a /athlonxp3000, 512mbDDR ram, ati raedon9800pro, 250gb hd 7500rpm
*provider is AON

u need anything else?
i scanned my computer with avira prersonal edition, no viruses found
no icq, msn, skype, seti or other progs running
"Thomson SpeedTouch 546" is calibrated to let everything through

I have a hunch...

What soundcard are you using?
What antivr (name & version) are you using and did you disable the XP-"security"-features?
And how much memory did you grant to trem?

As for AON, you are not using one of the traffic limited f*cked rates?
If you are then you might get caped bandwidth as soon as you are over your aloted quota...
