Screen Brightness/Xfire [Solved]
« on: February 14, 2009, 08:00:17 am »
Ok, so heres my problem

Everytime I'm in Tremulous, and another program pops open (like msn, or xfire) , tremulous suddenly turns out darkish. It's really annoying, and I'm too lazy to turn brightness or gamma up every time. Though I'm pretty sure that won't help.

This is a big inconvenience becuase now i cant use xfire without stuffing up my tremulous screen.
Oh right, that also happens when my screensaver comes on.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of something that stops that, but I cant find that thread again.
Any help would be appreciated.

Only workaround i know is to disable everything that may pop up - while playing Trem.  :P

That doesnt help me with my xFire problem much....

Try windowed mode?

That could work..... :D

Thank you all so far for the constructive answers, but I still might need more.
I heard something about a later version of a backport that could sort this....I think ::)

Eh, just tried something wierd.
When it turns darkish, all I have to do is get gamma up to 2, then back to 1
That fixes it.
But i would still like a better suggestion =[
 Please? any ideas?

You could make a bind to do it for you.

thats true....

Anyone know the bind for it?

I have feeling its something like bind l "r_gamma 1;r_gamma 2;r_gamma 1"

Off to do some testing.......

Back...... Yes it was the gamma problem, so I made a bind for it, and now its fine. All I have to do is when it darkens, I just use the bind.

Thanks for the help!
