My First Experience

I first saw about Tremulous on Digg.com quite some time ago. I've looked at it several times since then, and just shrugged it off. It did remind me alot of Tribes 2 though.

I finally took the time today to read over it, and since I hadn't had anything better to do, downloaded it and tried it out.

It was amazing!

I got used to the maps pretty fast, the combat was exhilerating, and so was the teamwork.

The highlight of today was my last match so far before I took this break. I was playing on the ESA server on the map where in the "middle" of it, inbetween Human and Alien bases, where your outside, and your on what seems to be an asteroid or rocky planet.

Anyways, it was about 50 minutes into the game, we've been doing quite well, I had maxed out my credits to 2,000, had a battlesuit and flamethrower, and alot of other teammates had jetpacks or battlesuits with the lucifer rifle or flame thrower. We were doing awesome, we were attacking the base and managed to keep two guys in there, me being one of them, for a bit where we wreaked havock. I got killed, sent back, loaded out, when I noticed we were being pushed back into the middle outside zone.

And there I saw it, the alien I had heard about before but never seen or played as, the tyrant. It was pretty big to say the least. Next thing I know, we've been pushed back to our base by about 2-3 tyrants.

Our team fought valiantly, we stuck together as a team fighting off the enemy, keeping them at bay. We had constructors inside repairing the turrets and we had about 4 telsa generators, but our turrets were destroyed.

We fought for what seemed like eternity, when we started getting attacked from behind, I told everyone to "WATCH THE UPPER" as aliens started arriving from the upper entrance catching us unaware and by surprised.

We kept holding our base for quite some time, until there was about a minute or two left, when the aliens finally triumphed by destroying our spawn and builders.

What a great game. :p

I had a question though, are there clans in this game? This game would be perfect if there were. I can imagine it, having a clan based section on these forums for guilds to recruit, and having an off-site forum and website communicate.

Most clans would reuire teamspeak and a mic, so that clan-mates can communicate with one another during games.

EDIT: Grammar.

I'm glad you like it!  Welcome to the world of camping humans and slaughtering Tyrants!

And yes, there are clans.  I've seen [LLJK] (DO take my advice and don't join them though, some of their members are pure evil griefers), [AKKA], and [FU] or [**** You].  There are more, but I can't remember them at the moment...

Yeah, Tremulous is fairly new and there are only a few clans.

[LLJK] isn't even a real clan, for example.  It only signifies that someone belongs to the Something Awful forums.

I would also point out that as far as we know the griefers are people impersonating LLJK players too
Official Ace Forum Attorney. If your post is stupid I will object...

griefers deliberately deconn the reactor+teles+armory then disconnect.

or if FF is on kill all the above.

Other forms include:

nexterhollands deconn everything but the reactor and all the turrets he can build.

Rebuilding  the reactor/om in the start base whenever someone tries to move base.

shotgunning people off a ledge so they crater

Blocking retreating aliens whenever possible

purposefully feeding yourself to the other team.

Basically the term 'griefer' describes just about every instance of people being assholes one can name :)

pratically every clan member i have came across on this game has been an asshole, except a few who i cant remember. while they may not be griefing they can do things to disadvantage the team, for example when u've been keeping ur team alive for ages they decide to move the base to some random location for some random reason just because they are a clan and they do not warn before they do it. i would recommend just not playing a game when there is more than one person who has some form of clan associated with them because while they can communicate their ideas to each other through external software, anything which allow microphone chat, and do not tell anyboy whats going on

Just ignore the assholes. You'll filter out the nice people soon enough. Just like in real life, most people are fuckers.

Welcome Adamski! I remember playing with you earlier today :>
Another 'clan' I've seen is [WD]. Although there are only 2 peeps in that clan yet, I think it's growing rapidly.

Hehe, sorry, but there's one map that I can't avoid doing it. It is just too hilarious. I feel bad, but damn is it funny sometimes. :-)
