BAsically what you're suggesting is a 'survival' map where alien eggs/base exists someplace beyond a small huamn outpost, it is up to humans to survive for the length of the match?

ie. humans can be killed but aliens can't?

aliens can sneak in and settle inside the building , or in the yard.

so aliens have to setup a base in a big open area....or try and get by the humans to setup in the human area....

You really haven't played Tremulous very much have you?

If you had you'd have realized why that would be a very bad map.

I'll explain what i can see from this map

I don't think aliens are in a wide open space, but in some kind of hole, so if it's deep enough, humans cant shoot it.

Maybe add some paths from the hole/alien base to the human buildings/base.

Humans can exit the base with the gate (open or closeable) and also through the doors, though i think it would be nice if some sort of generator has to be activated, that can also be turned off by the aliens ofcourse (with a cooldown perhaps), before using the gate and maybe some other things on the map (base defences?).

Anyhow this is how i see the map abit   .

Thing is wolf Woo already stated in the first post as this being an arena style map which means very open. Which from the drawing yes could mean alien base is down in a hole....but again when you come out of the hole you have humans sniping you from their rooftop/fence.

"Well there'll be cover" - if you use brush built trees the map'll look like crap. If you use map models it'll lag like savage. You could use rock formations but again the trouble is getting it to look good.

Ultimately I could see an arena style map working if one base is safe while the other team defends til a certain time (at which point the other teams base is auto destroyed). With both accessible however aliens would be at an enormous disadvantage for multiple reasons:

1) Wide open spots
2) Inability to effectively use wallwalking
3) S1 Grangers are slow as hell they'll be dead before they get anywhere near the outpost to setup a base
4) From the original idea the human outpost is THE base location, aliens have to move to it or be wasted.
5) Depending upon the lighting it can equally be bad for aliens - if daylight brightness there's no way you'll miss that tyrant charging your front gate.

That's why there should be tunnels from the hole towards diffrent locations in the human base.

I'm sure aliens in a hole would be great for grenades... just one and you could screw up their day...
