OSX Server Troubleshooting

Hey,

A couple months back, I tried to set up a dedicated server for OSX using one of the listed guides. It worked. Now when I try to launch the ded server, I get an error message something along these lines: (Server crashed: G_ParseSpawnVars: found # when expecting {) [The # tends to change every crash) Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix it? (I seriously had the server working not more than a week ago)

My server appears on the Favorites/LAN, but not on the Internet. Can someone tell me how to fix this? (PS It's not firewall/portforwarding, I'm not that dumb :P)

most routers are dumb with NAT and won't allow you to communicate to your external IP from your NAT IP. so it's no big deal. post your external IP here and we'll be the judge if you're smart or not.

The two problems with me posting my IP is 1: I have a dynamic IP. 2: I have Verizon. (aka unstable crap) Now, I know you're going to tell me, "don't host a sever if you have crappy internets." This is true in most cases. However, I would like to use this server off-and-on as a map testing server that me and a friend can access to test our maps.

At this point I have the server running, and at this moment my IP is: 71.126.79.177

Another thing to be noted is that a couple months back, I ran this server and it showed up on the master list. Now, it obviously doesn't.

connecting to you via netcat yields nothing, nor does any ip even close to yours show up in the master list. so, check your firewall config. check your +dedicated setting.

Thanks for the help, but it seems I solved my own problem. Through checking my NAT settings on my router, I found that someone had turned the filter on. (Thus causing the problem)

Not to bring back a dead topic, but also adding a favorite with "your_ipadress:your_port" can help you connect to your server if it isn't on the master list. You can also look here under "V" then under "4" for more information.
