[solved] Error while starting (TJW)
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:00:44 pm »
First off all, i uses Sufu, the CREATE SERVER topic was the only one with my error:
Code: [Select]
********************
ERROR: G_ParseSpawnVars: found # when expecting {
********************
----- Server Shutdown (Server crashed: G_ParseSpawnVars: found # when expecting {) -----
==== ShutdownGame ====

I downloaded TJWs qvm and their tremded.x86 (linux)
I followed the instructions and put the server.cfg in the ~/.tremulous/base folder. The vm folder with the qvm too!
I also moved the tremded.x86 to the installation folder (/usr/share/games/tremulous/)..

After i'd done my work, i tried to start as it me was told with
Code: [Select]
/usr/share/games/tremulous/tremded.x86  +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg
But i can't startup the server without this error! PLS help, if the qvm and the tremded of the SAME provider don't match, which then??

Thankx 4 ya help

TJW's site has a big red warning on it, because it's all old.
More up-to-date is Lakitu7's qvm and the MG tremded.  There are other ones around, but those work.
(It looks like you did everything right, so it's probably just TJW's stuff is now old)

Yeah, most of them are written by people who are no longer hanging around :(
